I noticed no one has posted anything in a long time. Well, I was kinda curious about what other mommies thought were their favorite scriptures or quotes.

one of mine; and i've shared this before:

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. _Hebrews 10:35-36

....It makes doing what I have to do everyday w/ the kids and my husband (although sometimes crazy) all the worthwhile. Because, I can't think of a better reward then the blessings that God has for me.

What are yours?

I like Proverbs 31:10-31
"A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her,and he will have no lack of gain. ......."
I wish all women in the world are as described in these verses.I really admire the woman described in these verses and pray to be like her.

Matthew 6:25 For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; not for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
That is one of my favorites. I have several though.

I know it's a cliche, but my favorite is the traditional "For he so loved the world...". This was actually what we used in a discussion with our son to demonstrate how important we all were to God. The conversation ended with my 5 yr old saying something along the lines of "WOW! He loves me even more than you do, and that's lots!" Ahhh. I love my son! ; - )

I was so glad to get this post in my email this morning! I needed a "pick-me-up" and this is the best kind! All my favorites are already posted by other moms (do great moms think alike? hehe) except this one I learned as a kid, but I can't remember where it's found.

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

While I was browsing, looking for the reference (which I haven't found yet) I found this--so good when we get feeling sorry for ourselves...

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4
Read the rest before and after it to get a feel for Jesus' own life and attitude about humility! Very humbling to me, anyway.
Have a good day, everyone :)

My favorite scripture is Proverbs 31:10-31. It is the story of "The Virtuous Woman". This story is an inspiration to me to be all that I can be. As the Lord is preparing my husband for me, I write these scriptures on the tablet of my heart while praying that the Lord is also preparing me for my husband. Thank you Father, in the name of Jesus.

I just read this in an e-mail from my church and I love it: "I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess."

Hi....

there are manny scriptures i love , here're some of them:
Proverbs 19:17
If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord- and he will repay you!

1 Peter 3:3-4
3 Don't be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.

4 You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.

1Peter 3:10-12

10For,
"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

I have some of my favs scriptures that I lean on:
Phil. 4:6,7 KJV "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Colossians 4:6
"Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man."
and my personal fav: Ps.51:10 " Create in me a pure heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

I also have many favorite verses. The one that has meant the most to me for the last few years is.

Jeremiah 29;11-14A
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with

I know we often hear verse 11, but the rest really speaks to me. I know that I know that I know If I am seeking God and Praying to him He will hear me and I will be abler to follow.

when I was in 6th grade (private school), my class memorized all of Psalm 139. It is with me to this day...

...I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body...

mine is romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will

that was the theme of our youth group when i was younger...and it still hits home.

I have so many favorite Scriptures... to just pick two off the top of my head I would go with:

Ephesians 4:29 (New International Version)

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

and

Philippians 4:5 (also NIV)

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The LORD is near.

They help me to remember that if it isn't lifting others up or benefiting those who listen, then I probably shouldn't say it, or even think it for that matter. And that I always need to be gentle, not flying off the handle or stomping around mad. I guess I need to list one more...

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
