I am a proud mom right now. Recently I took my 14 yr old daughter to Books A Million to look around. We love shopping in the Christian book section. She picked up a book called Technical Virgin " How far is too far" by Hayley Dimarco at first I questioned whether this book would be a positive way for her to learn ways to remain pure until marriage. I agreed half heartedly to allow her to buy it. She immediately started reading it when we got home. After a couple of chapters she came to me and wanted to read some of it to me. I was amazed at some of the information in the book and how descriptive it was about different ways Teens now a days get around the topic of loosing thier virginity. It talks about kissing, oral sex, fondling and everything. It really addresses all the stuff teens experiment with in the name of relationships but it give a Biblical and christian point of view of Dating and how far is too far. It talks about the differences in male and female thoughts about relationships. I am very impressed with the book and recommed it for teen girls and boys. Mom's if you question it just see if your local library has it. But my daughter who loves christ with all her heart and lives her daily life for Jesus loves the book.

Ries & Julie,

I recently came across a book in the Chrisitian book store called Almost Sex: 9 Signs You are about to go too far (or already have) for boys only. It is written my Micheal Dimarco the husband of Hayley Dimarco the author of the book my daughter read ( Technical Virgin). I bought the book for my son and it is really good. Here is a link for more info from a online christian bookstore price is good too!! http://www.christianbook.com/almost-sign...

Hope you are able to get one for your sons.

God Bless You,
Ginger

My daughter also made this pledge at about 13 yrs. old
She is now almost 19 and in her first year of college and feels the same way. She knows many friends who have given up their purity and she believes strongly in waiting. She hasn't been tested by a very serious relationship, but I am proud of her strength to this point and will continue to support and guide her as best I can.

Hi Ries & Julie, I am not sure that this particular book is geared toward boys. However I am sure that there are other books on the market that target boys. I would say that this book is mostly geared for girls and is very blount. I Pray that you find a book that is appropriate for boys and if I come across one I will let you know. I have a teenage son also and have bought some books for him also. I will keep looking for a good book geared for boys and let you know.

Like our Australian friend, my question is should boys read it or is there a book like that for them? My son is 14 and his view is what's the rush, "I'm only 14" - his mind is on other things, but it won't be long now before his friends start talking about who did what with whom, and I want him to be able to stand by his faith and say, "Not for me, not now." But if he were to read this book, I think it would strengthen his convictions regarding sex before marriage and what could come before that!
