Hi everyone, , , i'm wondering 'WHY' nobody has commented on my request here on this community. My feelings are somewhat hurt because it seems as if you are passing me up. I am very open and honest with all my posts. I am just like any other mom here online. What is going on here? I would appreciate some ideas for my son's 16th birthday party that is coming up in April. Thank you all! God bless you all! HUGS to everyone! ahahhaa

Wii dance party gets everyone up and moving...then give prizes for funny, made up catagories...flashiest dancer, jumpiest dancer, princess dancer, diva dancer, smiliest dancer...
my son had a crew of boys over last week and they had a blast playing Just Dance 4. Girls love it too. Big Big hit! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0086V5...

The 16yr olds Party was held last Saturday night! We now have 45 boys and girls raving about how good it was. No problems on the night and no real mess was made. All kids were signed in and out of party! Strictly no alcohol or cigarettes and all abided and respected my daughters wishes! It made a few realises that u do not need alcohol to have a great time.

Sorry too late just joined up, but for future! My daughter is 16 in two weeks and i have bought cheap props IE: crazy hats, stick moustaches, lips, glasses and ties feather boas and put up a black velvert curtain for backdrop for a photo booth. No need to print photos just post to individual attendees facebook. She is having an open fire in the back yard, finger foods such as buffalo wings, party pies, sausage rolls, sushi, mini spring rolls and chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmellows also used for fire, cup cakes soft drinks, water and hot chocolate as it is winter here in Australia. All the attendees are musical so a few are also bringing guitars for a sigalong around the fire. The TV will be on with no sound as there is a big AFL game on that the boys will want to keep an eye on. Music is off all ipods/iphones through a docking station. A few fairy lights and balloons for decoration. hope this helps. I have some feedback from 2 girls attending saying the photo props will be a blast!

Okay just last night my teen son had a bunch of friends over and they had an absolute blast playing Just Dance 4 on the WII I got it on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0086V5...
Honestly it was soooo funny watching them all trying to make the dance moves. They were cracking up at each other. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Its available on other game systems too if you have play station or xbox. Definitely fun for teens of all ages.
I plan to try it when no one is around too. :)

Hi just saw your post myself, depending on what your son is interested in you could go with a theme party my youngest daughter decided for her 16th to have a 60's theme and everyone got into the swing of it and it was amazing to see both girls and guys come dressed and they had a great night. My youngest son was different he would have either a night of dinner and go to the movies or I know some of his mates had a landline party at our local youth group centre where they played online games with other people. You could also hire in movies and have a pizza and movie night only if your prepared to put up with teenagers everywhere. :) I must have been crazy lol hope these suggestions help and you find something for them to do.

Hi, I just joined today and saw your post. Maybe this idea will help you. Here's the party my daughter had for her 16th. A scavenger hunt in a mall. We used a sprawling, busy, outdoor mall at night where it was difficult for the kids to run into each otherand clue into their answer (fyi The Irvine Spectrum, California). Days before the event, my husband and I went to the mall to walk through for the scavenger hunt list. We tried to be challenging, but fun. We picked something on a carasel, something else on a large decorative water fountain, and a painting of Keith Richards in an art shop. The clues were tricky too. The party was taken to the mall in a limo. They were put in groups of three, given their lists, and told the finishing time and place. Gift cards were giving to the 1st and 2nd place winners. The party was a hit. Hopes this helps you.

My daughter just turned 16 last week, I have always wanted to be able to my kids birthday to remember. My first idea was to rent a place where the teens like to hang out and I found a spot where the were arcade games, pool tables and an espresso bar due to limited funds and limited time I had to think fast so I talked to my daughters best friend to help gather up friends even momentarily

possessed her cell phone to get contacts that way, what I did was planned a surprise party for her and her friends where happy to take part and the best part she didnt have a clue

What is he into? My son loves fishing so we are getting a friend to take him & some mates out. Girls are so much easier my 15 year old had some girls round for a sleepover & had french polish done & minked toe nail...... I know that's no help to you trying to find 16th birthday party ideas for your son. Depends on budget too! Take him & some mates to a footie game with meal after or drop them at cinema & pay for food after. Sure he doesn't want mum tagging along! Some night clubs do under 18 evenings you could arrange to take him & some mates, pick them up and let them sleep over..... pref outside in a tent. Hope he has a fab 16th birthday party.

I just gave my 15 yr. old son a cook-out party. He invited a bunch of his buddies, they played football & basketball, drank a bunch of water & gatoraid & sodas, tracked into the house, used all my glasses, & had fun together. I gave him money, because he doesn't like what I buy him. Have a fun day.

Sorry that no one has responded. If you don't mind me saying, birthday ideas for a 16 year old son can be quite a challenge. My first suggestion is to ask him what he'd like. Depending on your personal perspective and budget this may be a challenge. When we lived up north, I took my sons and their friends skiing for the day. I was a single mom at the time and all the other parents pitched in for the lift tickets instead of presents. Then we came back home and had pizza and cake and all the kids slept over. Of course, there were still presents!!

I don't know how you feel about paintballing, but it's very cool. You can check it out, but kids love it. Our church takes the youth group at least once a year. Very safe. Some fields have special deals for birthday parties.

Good luck!

Love,

Karen

For my son's 16 birthday I gave him a surprise party at home & invited all the people that I knew he would want to share it with. Everyone had a lot of fun keeping it a secret!!! We served hamburgers, chips & dip, canned drinks, and of course cake. His birthday is on St Patrick's day...so there was a lot of green in the pictures!!!lol It all turned out really great & we have great memories to go with it!!! Hope this helps you with 16th birthday party ideas & planning! Blessings Your Way!

I hardly ever get on but I noticed your post and wanted to suggest a 16th birthday party idea. I had a roller skating birthday party for my daughter when she turned the big 1-0. We rented the hall for a couple of hours and were able to invite up to 50 people. It was a great time.

I guess it depends on what kind of things he likes to do-my son (15 in march) is all about the movies-loves to go every weekend if i let him, but in our area they have star light bowl which is fun-it is fairly dark in the lanes, disco lights and lazers, and they play music while you bowl....that is all i can think of...hope it helps

My apologies. I didn't see your earlier post. Although I volunteer w/ teens (which is why I subscribed to this) my own kids are 9, 7, 4 and 1 so I don't get online often. Just saw this in my inbox. I found gifts.com to be invaluable during the holiday season. You know your son better than we would so I highly recommend using the cool profiling quiz they have. It was super helpful when I was trying to figure out what to get my sister-in-law's fiance! :) Hope it helps you too.
