Hi Brandy!

I'm Johanna .. I'm a mom of a 15 year old daughter and a 5 month old son Samuel.. I am a christian pentecostal mother.. I believe that Jesus is the son of God and was crucified and risen for our salvation... I believe in the HOly Spirit, I believe that Jesus said in his word that it was best for him to leave so that the Comforter could be brought to us... so that we could be filled with the Holy Spirit of the Lord,.. I believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, some dance like David danced other speaks in unrecognizable tounges,, prayer language between our spirit and the Lord... but I don't believe that these signs define that you are filled of the Holy Spirit ... I believe that once you accept Jesus Christ the Holy SPirit fills you up and it's the way the Lord starts transforming you.. I go to Church of God church in Watertown NY, but denominations are not important what's important is that the WOrd of God is preached without being adulterated ... Now I noticed in a post that Baptized in Jesus Name.. well I believe in the baptism by immersion and in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit... God Bless You all.. it's wonderful to get to know other Christian Moms..

I am a Pentecostal Holiness mommy. Spirit filled and oneness believing. Baptized in Jesus name

So am I.  I believe there is one God and baptizing in Jesus name only. I also believe in receiving the gift of the holy ghost. Nice to meet every one.

Hello Brandy. I think i fit your description, and a blessing to find such a large group of woman with like faith. I am a Mum of 4 ages 13years to 5 months. I love this wonderful journey of motherhood and all its blessings and oh so many challenges, how can any of us do this all important job of motherhood without the guidance of our Lord and saviour.

Thanks for your reply! Just wanted to give you some of the reasons others believe a little differently. God made all kinds of people with so many different talents and abilities. I love that we are all different. In the end, we all love the same wonderful God and i pray He leads me where i need to be and gives me wisdom for what i need to learn. In no way do i think i know all there is to know about Him! I too have seen miracles and healings through the "prayer warriors" of my church. i have felt the spirit lead me and been blessed as i followed that path. i have felt a peace that comes only from Him in the midst of very hard times in my life. I do very much believe in the power of the Holy Spirit in my life today.I have never witnessed a full healing with just laying on of hands, nor have i heard a prophecy. But i have never seen India or the fish at the deepest level of the sea either and they do exist...i pray He may allow me to witness such things if it is His will for me to be a part of something like that. God bless you and thanks for not getting offended. Glad i could have this conversation. i like to hear different views. My heart is true so i know He will lead me where i need to be. Thanks again

ok, not trying to upset anyone, honestly. However, i would like to post what i have been taught on the matter. The Bible absolutly teaches we recieve the Holy Spirit. It also talks alot about when the apostles were first given gifts of speaking in tongues, healing, prophesy. It says in Acts 1:8 they would recieve the power of the Holy Spirit so they could be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria. Soon after in chapter 2:4 says they recieved that spirit and were able to speak in other tongues. In verse 11 of the same chapter it says two types of people heard the Good News in thier own tongue. It wasn't some unknown yelling or gibberish, it was a way to spread the gospel to other nations other tongues. I would have to learn Portuguese but the Spirit filled them and they knew miraculously!! They had many other gifts to use in order to spread the news about Jesus. Just like Him, they healed people to show His power! They profesied to show His Power etc. I read in the Bible however, that there is a time when profesies will be done away, tongues shall cease but LOVE is what matters (1 cor 13:8) Just like in the O.T. God had them make sacrifices with rituals, high priests and all that...He was prepairing His people for a new law, a new covenant that was more than just ritual, more than just following rules...Jesus was coming. When the apostles were given these gifts it was to say JESUS IS HERE now! The Holy Spirit does more than make people get excited (which is wonderful). I read it gave some boldness (acts 4:31) some peace in the face of death (Acts 7:55) and when we just don't know what to say to God the Spirit makes intersession on our behalf to God with groans (Rom 8:26). The Spirit guides me, comforts me, fills me, moves me. But i believe the days of speaking miraculously and laying my hands on others to heal are now done (1 corinth). They were there for a purpose and now they have ceased. Please don't think the Holy Spirit has ceased to have power! No way! Also i have found the 2 penacostal churches i went to seemed to be "filled" with the Spirit all during the worship. Many talking at once, yelling, even rolling all the time someone singing or preaching! Being out of my comfort zone, i was a little frightened and very confused as to what was going on. I am not trying to be funny or make fun at all. Just how i percieved it. I read in I corinthians 14:33 that He is not a God of confusion. This whole chapter is on how the church was to conduct thier worship when gathered together. verse 40 says everything should be done in an orderly fasion. Look, i am sad to say the churches i grew up in were so scared of the Holy Spirit that for many years they have ignored it completely! No clapping, raising hands etc. I feel strongly that God wants balance in our lives in all things. One extreme or the other are both out of balance! God gives us rules and commandments to keep us safe and close to Him. Not to judge each other by. He wants our hearts and our obedience. Does God heal today? of course. Are there miracles? Yes!! I believe in all that. I hope i don't upset anyone to badly, it's not my purpose. I just read it and follow. I know we all think we do lol. I am so glad for God's grace and patience with us all. if i am wrong, i pray He gives me time and wisdom for i will never stop seeking. God bless all of you!

Crista ,dont worry you hopefully did not ofend anyone not me anyway growing up in a VERY penticostal church I was shy quite and yes some of the things I saw scared me or embarressed me . I left the it as an adult it just seemed to much for me . I attended some local non denominational churches and was left feeling lackingin some sence  or in the least that I have never been to anyother churches that were so into the supernatural spriit of Christ that okay he can and will perform miricles that this being that is so big and so amazing that we can not fathum the miricles we can expect from him that yes today there are still healers and people of profecy I have witnessed this with my own eyes and that yes we dance like david dance and sing like david sang and our pastors can be loud and full of conviction and to some that can be way out of thier comfort zone and to me thats okay we all have different levels of exceptance and to what we strive to understand or but to me I have come to realize God is miraclous and we have been created in his image and have the possliblity of performing miricles and speaking in toungues to expess things to him that even we can not put into words only with Faith that these things can come about it takes a step that for most is out of that level of comfort and thats okay God did not call all of us to this it does not make on better or lacking in who they are in him only God knows your heart

1Corinthians chapter 12 refers to the different spiritual gifts and how the Holy Spirit distributes them, in the same book chapter 14 refers to speaking in tongues and prophecy. I was brought up baptist in my mom's church where they do not believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and when I was invited to an AOG and saw the spirit of God moving I knew there was more to serving God than just sitting on a pew! I wanted the same things that I saw that these people had! So I left my mom's church and attended the AOG for 6 years. Now I attend an non-denominational church that allows God to move in powerful and mighty ways and I am learning more about how to be an Ambassador for Christ as we are called to be and how to walk in the authority that Christ had placed on us the minute we accepted Him into our heart. I have seen God move in miraculous ways and He has even used me in some cases of healings and deliverances. I just want more of Him and His spirit so that I can "snatch as many people out of the pits of hell" as I can while there is still time left!

thanks couldnt find the scripture I was just shocked that she said it staes in the Bilble about not speaking in tongues I was just taken back a little even though I know that is way out of the comfort zone of a lot of "todays christians" I believe there is a scripture about the 7 gifts we can be granted any references ?I am really bad about where to find what I am looking for I know the verse but not the book

The bible states in Acts 2:38 that on the day of pentecost they were all filled with the holy ghost as the spirit gave them utterance. - In my church on this past Pentecost Sunday over 40 people got filled with the spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues - for the first time. In John it says unless you are baptized by the water and the spirit, you cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

The Bible is just as revelent today as it was back then. The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. - The Word has never changed, but people have changed their interpretation of the Word.
