Just what sort of "DISCIPLINE" are you advocating? Common sense discipline, or abuse?

Cecile, if the teacher is unresponsive to your requests for help to the principal. You can create an assignment log for your son that the teacher must initial. Then, at home he must work steadily for 15 minutes then take a break. Activities he likes (TV, computer) are off limits to him until work is done. Are you sure your child has no learning issues?

Hi, my son will be 10 in July and is in the 4th grade. He hides his homework and performs poorly in class. I know my son is smart but just looks for every opportunity to avoid studying or doing homework. I tried working with his teacher, but she would rather give him a zero than work with me so he knows he cannot hide his homework. I am so frustrated and I don't know what to do anymore. When I try to help him with homework, he would prefer I give him answers to the questions or we would spend at least 5hrs on a one page assignment if I insist he does it alone. I don't know what to do anymore.
