Eliana still wakes up twice during the night...I am scared as to what to give her. I don't want her teeth to rot. Do I give milk? juice? water? juice with water? watered down milk? Helpppp!!!

water, water, water. When I wake up during the night, I often want a drink, my husband too. Water will help her get back to sleep, but it will not encourage her to do it again.

She shouldn't need anything at this age so you might have to break the cycle and let her cry it out. I know it's tough,i did it with mine.It took about 4 nights for her to get into the new routine. Also, work out if she is getting full feedings during the day. That can make a difference :) Hope this helped

My oldest daughter did this until she was over a year old. Finally my mother in law said to a bottle of water, it worked like a charm. Her teeth are fine at 12 years old.

With both of my girls I just gave them water when they woke up in the middle of the night. After about 3 days they decided it wasn't worth the effort to make a fuss so they went back to sleeping all night. I also, though have never let my kids go to bed with a bottle. I hold them on my lap while they have their bottle then put them to bed. This is my personal preference but it helps with them wanting a bottle in bed and prevents tooth rot. My kids are/were always held when eating at that stage. If they wanted to get up and walk around (in the daytime) I took the bottle away, they only got it when being held because I didn't want it to become a security thing. My two girls were a dream to wean from the bottle entirely and both have perfect, healthy teeth. I am doing the same with my new son. Just some info, what works for one does not work for everyone. Hope this helps.

Before bed put cereal with her formula About 2 oz cereal and the rest formula. It will fill her up more and hopefully she will sleep through the night.

I would definately give her water. If you break her from milk/formula at night now, you will have a much easier time later! Taking a bottle at night is ok if they only have water.

What does she want to drink? If she wants water, give her water. Sometimes if they're fussy, a warm milk bottle comforts and puts them back to sleep.

I would give her nothing. There is no physical need for her to still be getting up in the night. As long as she's healthy and eating/drinking properly during the day she doesn't need anything at night. She's just used to getting up. It's time for some tough love and let her know that night time is for sleeping. My 2 year old slept through the night at 11 wks and hasn't gotten up since (except when she's sick) and my 6 weeks old is getting very close already (6-7 hours at night). Everybody is happier when you both get to sleep all night. Good Luck!!

This may sound crazy, but your baby sound like it is hungry. Try mixing some rice cereal with some milk and feeding her a little about a half hour before bedtime. See if that works and let us know

Milk is food so if she has enough to drink & eat during the day, she doesn't need more food at that time of the nigh. Our tummies need to rest at night so we can get rest. So give her a bit of water, not much just a bit, she needs to get out of this habit now, so it may take a couple of days. If your dr says she well then just be patient. Annette.

hay there, my son has started doing that, and i have just started to give him a normal warm bottle. He will fall asleep drinking it. i will not pick him up i just put the covers back on him and leave him. Then i started to reduce the amout of milk i give him each night untill he ends up sleeping through with out one. that is the only thing that i find that helped me. hope all works out for you :)

I used to work for an Oral Surgeon. I can tell you that both juice and formula will put your baby at risk for tooth decay/gum disease by being in a bottle in her mouth while she sleeps. I don't think it makes a difference what you. Give her, she's still going to wake up. You should eliminate night feeds asap. You can try putting the binky in her mouth when she wakes up and put her back to sleep. After a couple days, her wakings should subside and she may sleep through the night. I have done this and so have many other moms I know and all our babies sleep through the night...don't think it is a coincidence =] if you absolutely MUST give her a bottle to fall asleep, give a bottle of water...her teeth won't be at risk for rotting with water. Wishing you luck!

is she still on formula? use that ..if she is on milk use that... her teeth will rot if the bottle sits in her mouth while she is sleeping... that happened to my son..he got a cavity on his front tooth and his teeth discolored in the front from sleeping with the bottle in his mouth... just make sure the bottle is out of the mouth if she is sleeping..with my next son i learned my lesson and only gave water in the middle of the night after 12 months... my 1st son had health issues thats why we were more leanient with the bottle in bed
