My 14 month old daughter (Heidi) is going for a life changing major operation in Ontario, Canada on March 28th. The specialists don't expect any issues, but I am very nervous. The surgery is 9+ hours long. She has Complete Complex Syndactyly and Polydactyly in both hands involving all fingers. Otherwise, she is bright, active and full of life. A true blessing in our lives!

I am requesting prayers for The Lord to guide the dr's, Heidi's recoverey, strength for myself to take care of Heidi, minimal pain for Heidi and monetary issues (several weeks off work, hotels, travelling etc)

Wow that's a big list! But I am comforted in knowing that The Lord will provide and no matter what, my baby will always be safe in His hands :)

Thank You in advance for those who will pray for my little girl. It means a lot and may you all be blessed!

Hi Sarah,
I am so glad your daughter is doing well. I hope she has continued to thrive following her surgery. I am an occupational therapist. I was wondering if she was able to participate in therapy or if she has done well without?

Sarah, sweetie, I am soooo thrilled! We KNOW that God is always with us, but it STILL blows me away to see Him in action ;)

We pray that her recovery continue to be miraculous, and that soon you will be holding her sweet little hands in yours, and they will look as good as yours. God is good, honey. Sometimes it's a little nerve-wracking, but He always comes through for us.

God bless!

Carla,
Heidi is going great! Her operation was 11 hours long! But she has recovered wonderfully and she currently has one hand out of bandages and is trying to use it. The other has not healed quite enough to unwrap fully. Her hands do look awful (to me) but the Doctor has assured us that they look wonderful! Very long road ahead. She did get a staph infection that hospitalized her for 3 days, but is doing wonderfully. It is a joy to have my baby girl back to herself! The Lord has truly blessed us with a wonderful baby and 2 other beautiful children.
May God bless you and everyone else!

Had to look this up, Sarah--I like to be able to pray specifically, when at all possible.

Father, we know that You have Heidi in the palm of Your hand, and you love her more than Sarah possibly could. We ask that you BE the surgeon's hands and brain, bringing this precious little one back to health and normalcy. We know that kids can be cruel, so we ask for complete success in this surgery, that there be no scars, no deformity, no complications, and for peace for Sarah and her family. We are absolutely certain you are there with them, let THEM know You are in the middle, and where You are, there can be nothing but wholeness. We thank You, Maker of each and every one of us, that our confidence lies in You, NOT in the doctors--they are but an extension of You. In Jesus' Name, amen.

God bless, darling, please update us when you can.
