I had my granddaughter almost completely potty trained just after she turned 2. She was doing great and was excited about potty training. She and her mother (my daughter-in-law) was living with us while my son was out at sea. The mother took off for a couple of weeks to spend time with her family and while she was gone, put the child back into diapers out of laziness. Well, now we have custody of our Granddaughter because her mother had CPS called on her twice while my son was out at sea. I went and got her and now my granddaughter refuses to use the toilet. She will be 3 in January and I don't know what to do about potty training her. I can't even get her to sit on the potty. She went from a sweet child to a very defiant, smart mouthed little girl. I don't know what to do about any of this. I feel bad for my granddaughter for being taken from her mother. She loves her mother but she just can't take care of her, my son can't take care of her until he gets out of the Navy. Do I just leave my granddaughter alone for a while?
