What should I do when my ex husband decided to tell me that him and his new fiancee have decided that our 5 and 3 year old should call her mommy? It's not the kids that decided that it's Daddy and the new B****!

That's my point excactly. My kids called my boyfriend daddy ones and he explained to them that he is not their daddy and that they should call him brian instead and they understand that. I really believe that their dad and his fiancee should have done the same.

Sorry, but I'd be quite upset if my young kiddies took to calling another woman mommy!
Maybe another "pet" name could be used but really, she's not their mum/mom, she's their dad's fiancee and if they get married, their dad's wife and their stepmother.
How would he feel if you had a guy and your kids were calling him dad?
It would be a different thing altogether if you weren't around, but, you are.

I agree if the kids were the ones that wanted to call her that not much I can do about it but it was their Dad and his Girl friend that made that decision for them and that is not right!! That is what is bothering me

Having been on both sides of the fence. It really should be what makes the kids comfortable. The 5 yr old maybe ok with it or maybe not. ask them!
The 3 yr old will mostly see it as calling her mom is like 2 grandmas.
Just because they call them grandma doesn't mean they don't know the differnce.

i think that the children should be able to call her whatever they want as long as they are comfortable. its all about timing and that should be up to them. good luck :)
