My daughter spent a good part of her 1st year congested (the doctors said she has airborne allergies, and that's what was causing her congestion.) She still gets congested quite often, but nowhere near as bad as her first year. At night you should put some folded blankets or towels under his crib or bassinet mattress to prop him up, it'll make it easier to breath while he's sleeping, or if your like I was and your child sleeps with you, prop yourself upright and have him sleep on your chest, I also found bringing my daughter into a hot steamy shower for about 10 minutes helped clear her up too when it got really bad. They also have a vapro-rub for babies that's not medicated, but still works quite well. It's called Baby Rub and we got ours at Walmart in the chilren's section of the medicine. I hope this helps you and your little one. I know how miserable it can be to have a stuffy baby and feel like nothing you're doing is helping.
