Has anyone tried the flip system? What do you think of it? Pros and cons? Any different than just prefolds and a cover? Is it very absorbent? Are the covers of good quality? I am thinking about trying it out, but I would love your opinions first!

I'm not so sure what you mean about the flip system. I bought 20 of them and have used them for almsot 2 years now. The snaps are really nice when baby grows bigger and you can change sizes. I found them to absorb quite a lot and quite leak proof as well. (much better than some commecial diapers) Then my little one grew up and was peeing more, so I had to add more towelling inside the nappy. I find them quite bulky sometimes when I look at my daughter walking, the sace between her legs is wider that if she would be wearing a disposable nappy. It concerns mea bit, but she doesn't mind half the time and runs around anyway.
One thing though is that I bought the older version of bumgenius with the velcro fastners. These keep on scratching her thighs even now. and it hurts quite lot because they scratch me as well when I change her nappy...I can only imagine on her soft skin. If you haev a choice, for for the cloth fastners..not velcro.. I saw on some website that they have improved the design.
Otherwise they have been really great and will be replacingthe velcro strips before my second one comes along.

I like the flip system alot. I so far do not have any cons about the diaper. I thinks it is very absorbent and I really love the covers they are cute soft and dont leave marks on my little one.I only have one of the covers but I deff wish I had more!!!

I would compare it more to a gDiaper. I haven't used mine yet, but it looks like it will work well. The inserts it comes with just lay in the diaper (don't fold around baby), but you could use the cover as a cover for prefolds, too if you wanted to - it's very sturdy PUL. I love snaps!

I LOVE FLIP.yes i have and im in love the snap which is much better because u dont have the rubing u have to get use to the snaps. I bought one pack and it last me almost one day but i have a baby that pees the waits till u change him then poops.lol. It has disposable which work great to. The inserts that come with it absorb great. The cover can get washed and washed and dont tear i suggest this product for everyone its great.
