Confused about Fuzzi Bunz!

Okay ladies, so I got my new fuzzi bunz one size diapers today and I am completely confused about the snaps! So I understand the buttonhole elastic in the leg and waist. I understand how to snap the three snaps on each tab. What I don't understand is when the tabs are snapped on the smallest setting (meaning the tabs are touching each other, and the stud snaps on the very tips of the tab are in the 2 middle most socket snaps of the diaper, just like in the picture linked below), there are 2 socket snaps showing in the front of the diaper. I thought at first they were for crossing over the tabs for a smaller fit, but then I realized that the tabs didn't have any socket snaps for crossing over, and the visible snaps on the front are slightly lower than the leg snap. So even if the tabs crossed over, those two snaps are too low...if you snap the bottom snap in it, the top snaps won't reach the top sockets. I know this probably doesn't make sense unless you are looking at a fuzzi bunz diaper or holding it in your hand! Sorry! But can anyone tell me what these two snaps on the front of the diaper are for???

My daughter exclusively wears fuzzibunz...all you have to do is adjust the snaps to the best fit of your baby. The bottom snap on the wings go to the bottom row of snaps. That is the hip snaps. You just snap them to whatever fits tightly around the babys legs. The top two snaps on each wings go to the top snaps and you snap them with one snap in between to the tightest of what fits around your babys belly.

For my daughters diaper, the hip snaps are snapped on the 2nd to tightest snaps...and the top snaps are on the tightest snaps. So it looks exactly like the picture you linked to. You have to read the cover that the diaper came in and it will tell you what the elastic needs to be on for the weight of your baby. Although sometimes you just need to play with the diaper and see what fit works best for your baby. Thats what I did and I haven't had any problems.

I think it's for babies that have really small thighs. I only adjust mine so they fit the last two leg snaps. I don't like to use the inner snaps. I don't like how the diaper looks when I do.

There's a video that shows that FB suggests snapping the leg first, then the waist snaps. We never used the smallest leg snaps, but we started cloth diapering a big 3 month old. I think its for people with the smaller babies. With the little ones, I don't think it matters as much if all three snaps are snapped on each side- they aren't moving all that much to get them caught on something and open up the diaper on acccident anyway

FWIW, for the first six months or so we rotated in Happy Heiny diapers as well, as they have velcro instead of snaps and are a bit easier for new dad to deal with. We tended to the FB at night, having included an additional layer of the hemp liners, so that we didn't have to change her in the middle of the night.

As baby grows, the FB snaps become very useful, though, as they're highly adjustable to an individual kid's waist and thighs - I had a skinny baby with no waist so the FBs REALLY were helpful!

Our baby was only 6.5 lbs when she was born. Even as a little peanut, she never needed us to bring the diapers in that far. I tried putting the top closure down onto those snaps, incase the baby had a big booty, or chinky thighs. I also played with it and brought the bottom closure in there, while the top closure was slightly further out, thinking that it might be good for a baby with a little Buddha belly.
I think either way...use what fits the baby best. Currently, we snap the left side one button over from where it would be symmetrically on the right, because her left thigh is just a little chunkier. What fits this week, will not fit in a week or two. We would adjust 5 or 6 at a time to what we thought would work and then readjusted as we went along. There were a few small leaks in the beginning until we got the hang of it. Within 2 weeks it was a piece of cake.

i think it has two on the top row to help stop wing droop(when the inside wing starts to hang out of the bottom of the diaper by the leg) if you go to youtube are a couple of how too videos that explain everything

Okay, I called!!! Gemma you are right. When I re-read your post, I realized what you were saying. I completely misunderstood the first time. I thought you were talking about snapping the snaps on the front of the diaper together, like when you adjust the rise on other diapers. But yes, you can move that bottom snap inward to close the legs. The reason I didn't think that was right at first was because it DOES make the fabric a bit twisted up. It doesn't look right! But I guess it is. Well, since I have a kid with fat legs, I won't have to worry about it! Thanks for helping me clear that up! I just wish I could have found a video that showed this, because none of the ones I watched said that you could move it in like that and I was SO confused!!!

Amy, can you link to that video or at least the website? I typed in "diaper shop" in facebook and can't find it. I typed in www.diapershop.com and it redirected me to Very Baby, of which I'm a member. I also didn't see the video on their facebook page.

Gemma, some have them, some don't...I'm not sure why. But mine don't. And on the how to video on their website, they addressed out to change the settings on the buttonhole elastic, but didn't say a word about these extra snaps. The other videos I've found online don't mention them either. In fact, some styles of Fuzzi Bunz don't even have these extra snaps, so I'm still confused!!! And, there isn't a way to do what you mentioned in your first post because all the snaps on the front of the diapers are sockets, and you can't snap a socket into another socket, you have to snap a stud (which are on the tabs) into a socket. The buttonhole elastic is what is used to adjust the leg. and the rise.

Maybe I will just call the company and ask them.

I just watched a video clip on the fuzzi bunz website and it seems that some of the onesize nappies did have an extra popper on the left tab, at the top which makes it so you cross the tabs over, but some i've seen don't have this extra snap. wonder why they have done that???

HHHMMM, that one to make you think, could you pull the bottom snaps in further to meet those 2 centre snaps, i know it would mean the fabric would be a bit twisted, but it should make the leg holes a bit smaller, i you have a baby with skinny legs that is. If you don't need to then i would try not to wonder too much as long as you have a good fit. The only other thing i can suggest would be to get hold of fuzzi themselves and ask. I did use fuzzi's for a time, but they were the older style and didn't have snaps in the centre like that.
