I have been thinking about getting one of those diaper sprayers that attach to the toilet. Just wondering if anyone has one of these, or tried one, and what are your thoughts? Is it worth the investment? Or just a gimmick?

I had a credit at our local diaper store, so we got the bumgenius one. It was pricey ($52 CDN), and I wouldn't have gotten it if I didn't have the credit. I would have just gone the route that Anna and Sonia recommended above. We had a couple of leaks at first, but tightened everything and now it's fantastic. I'm jealous when my husband rinses off the messy diapers... I wanted to do it!

I'd like to hear what kind you all have, because ours was terrible, it leaked like crazy and we turned it off.

Thanks for your input everyone. I got my diaper sprayer hooked up today and I can already see it's going to make messy diapers much more easy to handle!

The best invention ever - plus it's awesome for spraying out the tub next to the toilet! I cd'd without it recently while traveling and I have no idea how that swirl in the toilet thing is supposed to work. I ended up just tossing un-rinsed diapers in the pail and doing a soak/pre-wash cycle before my normal wash. Since it was just breastfed poop it wasn't a huge deal, but I still think it's gross. I really missed my sprayer!

funny I just saw this today - we just got the pieces for our "homemade" one today :) got the instructions from this website - http://gidgetgoeshome.com/2008/08/25/diy... there is a little more to it then just the sprayer you need the connecting pieces - we paid about $15 for all the pieces - hope this helps!

Oh it is so worth it! You don't have to pay for an expensive one designed for diapers though. Just buy a sprayer from home depot like the one on your sink and hook it up to the water line. It was A LOT cheaper than the one I saw at cotton babies and really easy to hook up. It is so easy just to spray the poop right where it belongs!

So worth it! Don't CD without one! Amazing! You can also find some that have varying streams so you can use then for personal hygeine also! Hope you get one you like!
