Im due in the spring, and planning on cloth diapering, can anyone tell me which they have found as the best to use for a newborn? I;m in Canada, so I think I can also get most of the US brands.. Any suggestions would really be appreciated!

I used Kissuluvs and liked them. So soft and snuggly. I especially liked that they folded down eliminating any rubbing on the navel.

honestly, maybe i'm old fashioned but i just bought diaper flannel from a fabric store (in sale is the best) and just cut them into squares, you just have too fold them up small but its good because it makes them thicker (less leaking) then when they get older you just fold them bigger and add an insert to thicken it up. of course remember to put on a pair of plastic pants.

Prefolds and covers were my favorite for the newborn stage. I also had Kissaluvs 0's but I wasn't as fond of them and reached for my prefolds more often. For convenience I liked my BumGenius pockets.

My daughter was a month premature and tiny. We used Motherease Xsmall diapers with the velcro covers. They were still a big big but then again she was 5 lbs. We now use the Motherease one size bamboo during the day and Bumgenius 3.0 at nigt.

I love prefolds and covers (try using a snappy) I use the thirstys covers. If you go to the thirstys website they have a link to their outlet store and you can get covers for around $7.00. Prefolds are great because you go through so many diapers with a new born. I think I have around 36 prefolds and 6 covers in the extra small. I also bought some small covers (because I found them on sale) and I have been using those at night with a prefold and a hemp insert. I have never had a leak so far! I love using cloth diapers!!!!

I started cloth diapering on my last baby. I bought the Bum Genius 3.0. They are kind of expensive, but they are all one size and adjustable. They fit babies 8-35 lbs. My baby girl is 3 months old and I have used them on her since we got home from the hospital. I love the diapers and haven't had any problems yet. If the Bum Genius actually hold up for the full 3 yrs like everyone says, then they are definitely worth the money.

I'm all about prefolds and covers--I get my prefolds from www.greenmountaindiapers.com. They quilt up beautifully and are much easier to use than you might think. I started CDing when my baby was about 6 weeks old and used the yellow edged infant sized prefolds. They lasted till he was around 6 months and then I got the larger size, which should take him through PTing. Very economical, simple, and effective!
