We are fairly new to cloth diapering and are getting ready to buy the 2nd round of diapers (15 lbs and up) - anybody have a favorite diaper? We have been using Dri-line, Gabby's and some homemade ones with Motherease covers.

I really love BumGenius onesize and also really like Mommy's Touch. They are neat because they are open at both ends so you don't have to remove the insert before washing. It comes out on it's own. The BG, though, I prefer a bit more. My friend runs www.frogandelephant.com and can really give you a lot of great info about the BG if you are interested.

How Funny! That's what we use! Bum Genius 3.0 and Mommy's Touch! We purchased a trial pack before our daughter was born so we could try a few different types and we really liked them both so we purchased 8 of each, Bum Genius 3.0, Mommy's Touch Pockets, and Mommy's Touch AIO.  Over time, the Bum Genius has proven to be the real work horse of the bunch but sometimes it is very convenient to grab an Mommy's Touch AIO, and we find the Mommy's Touch Pockets to be very easy to stuff.  We started using cloth diapers when our daughter was about 6 weeks old and have never turned back! She is almost 14 months old now and I do a happy dance when I go to the grocery store and don't have to buy diapers!

I know a lot of people prefer snaps to velcro, but we have found that the velcro fits better, with snaps you may have in between sizes where one setting is too tight and the next is too loose, you won't run into that problem with velcro closures.

i use gdiapers..................and LOVE them. i like that you can use the disposable insert while out and about or when traveling and the clothe inserts when at home. and the disposable inserts are biodegradeable.

i mostly use BG 3.0 but I just ordered an econappi by swaddlebees which I haven't tried yet, but it's darn cute! I love thirsties diapers and covers as well as prefolds with a prorap cover. I like to keep it interesting and switch them up.

I love Chinese Prefolds with proraps and lite wrap covers, At night both my kids use Drybees nighttime fleece with WAHM wool covers they used to leak through everything including Huggies and Bum Genius now they not only don't leak but sometimes they are dry even though you can tell they peed.

were i am from i only had one option in stores, the kushies, so i actually made most of mine. i found i liked the ones that had a thin layer of plastic inside and also the ones that had a little thicker lining. i found the original plastic 'pants' worked better than the kushies plastic covers.

Hi everyone. I'm in the midst of trying various different brands.

Although I love the bumgenius 3.0 (cute and convenient!) my daughter's skin seems to be sensitive to something. i think its the microfiber core + the suede-y fabric. she seems okay with fuzzibunz and the organic cotton bum genius OS. she's still pretty little (13 weeks) so the OSs seems a bit stiff and bulky regardless of brand. i'm also trying motherease OS and Sandy's small (both of which i love, except for the bulk). The bum genius and fuzzibunz are just quite expensive for us right now so that's definitely part of my decision-making process. I'd like to stick to natural fibers against her skin if i can, so I've just ordered the sample package from kidalog, and am also trying ecobumz (raw cotton core), kissaluvs and prefolds. i have enough to CD for a whole day so i try them all over two days! =)

Laundering for any of these diapers is pretty easy overall. What i found is although I may like a diaper for cuteness or convenience, my baby's bum will likely dictate what we'll end up with. No problems with leaks with anything i've tried!

I have to agree with most of the posts. I love my bumGenius. . .can't imagine using anything else. Even dad and grandma think they are great and easy to use.

I had been using mainly prefolds and covers, but now that Lily is 16lbs I bought a lot more BumGenius 3.0s. We're mainly using them now and she's growing with them great!

I've tried a lot - kissaluvs & tiny tush contours with pro-wrap, thirsties, imse-vimse, bummis super brite, bumkins, baby beehinds & stacinator (wool & simple) diaper covers; thirsties pocket-all-in-one, bumgenous & mommy's touch one-size pocket, & wollypop all-in-one diapers. Everything had it's plus and minuses. I use thirsties p-a-i-o for daycare and use tiny tush contour with several different covers during the day at home and tiny tush fitted diaper with thirsties cover at night. The other covers don't cover all of the fitted diaper. Tiny tush cost less than kissaluvs and is more flexible. I folded down the front until she was long enough. Kissaluv you can't fold down because of how it's sewn. I didn't have any luck with the wool covers or wallypop diapers. And I did everything right - I even talked to two ladies that own/make coth diapers - wool covers didn't work for me. I love how stretchy and flexible the thirsties, baby beehinds & imse-vimse covers are. However, thirsties can leak, baby beehinds are fabric so more drying time between switching covers and imse-vimse stained real easily. I guess, what I'm saying is don't go by what others say as much as trying them out yourself.

have you looked into GoodMama diapers? they are a one size fits all...they're a little more than most diapers....but if i can have the same diaper from newborn to potty trained...i'm willing to spend the extra so i don't have to constantly buy bigger sizes. otherwise, i really like kissaluvs.

I also recommend trying a BumGenius One Size - it's great cuz it'll grow with the baby! Many others are great too, but everyone suggested them already :)

My all time favorite is Goodmamas. My daughter is an extremely heavy wetter and we have tried all sorts of diapers (pockets, PFs, AIOs, etc) and the Goodmama OBV are the ones that work best for her. They are 9 layers thick and absorb a ton! They are ridiculously expensive, but if you can find them second hand they are worth it, especially b/c they are one size (fit 10-35 lbs.)

For everyday at home, we use chinese prefolds with a Thirsties cover -- they keep everything in! I've never had a leak once. When we go out, we use pocket diapers stuffed with a hemp liner or a prefold. My favorite pocket as far as "cuteness" goes is Blueberrys/Swaddlebees. They have really great prints and a super soft minky fabric and are made in USA. I've also used pockets from Monkeybunz -- they will even embroider with a name or design of your choice.

I'm with Liz. The BumGenius diapers are great. I've actually been using them on my daughter since she was only 9lbs (the medium size). I think they are supposed to be from 14-20-some pounds. She's a chunky-monkey, and they fit very comfortably. Not to mention, they wash easily and you don't have to stuff or snap. (I'm kind of a "lazy" cloth diaperer...so, fast and easy is what I'm all about.) :)

We love our pockets. BG 3.0 are our main diapers. I really like GADs (www.greenacredesigns.com). They are nice and trim. I also like Fattycakes and love the ones that Blanca makes on her hyena cart (Butterfly Baby).

I use chinese prefolds with Proraps covers. The covers work great and only cost $6 a piece! Recently my daughter has started soaking trhough at night, so I am doubling up, but otherwise, there are no leaks :-)

We use chinese prefolds with Imse Vimse and Bummi Superbright covers. I used Thirsties at first but I don't like the elastic leg bindings; they left deep red grooves on my son's legs. I use Bumgenius for nights. I really prefer cotton diapers though, they just wash up better in my front loader than the pocket diapers and microfiber inserts.

For pockets, I like my BG OSs. I really do love a good prefold or fitted with a wool cover, though. Those are my workhorse, go-to diapers in terms of never having any containment issues and ease of washing. I recently got an OBV prefold, and I love it...so absorbent, soft, and stretchy. If I ever have another baby, my newborn stash will be only those with wool covers. I'd better start saving up now, lol.

We love the good old Chinese prefolds with bummis whisper covers. They are economical, don't stain, and don't hold stench. We've been using them for 10 months now and have no complaints. Our second is due in May and the diapers are in fantastic condition and are ready for baby number 2. We got all our CDs at greenmountaindiapers.com.

I really like BUm Genius and we have a bunch of Baby Kangas. We were using the pocket diapers at night, and Kushies all in ones during the day. But I think my daughter might be allergic to microfleace. (I am quite allergic to synthetic fibers) But I actually quite love Kushies AIOs now that she is bigger and not peeing as often and has solid poops. I don't recommend them for runny Breast Milk poops though.

Love Fuzzi bunz and bum genius. For prefolds the thirstie cover are great as are there dipaer just expensive. I used Nikkis covers with my kids. Green mountain makes the best pre fold though they aren't cheap. They will last forever.

So, My favorite diaper is my diaper, I couldn't find one I liked so i made up my own. They are a pocket, with a PUL outer layer and a microfleece inside. For my insert I use a microfiber and flannel fold. They have resin snaps, cause I hate washing velcro.

My diapers I made 4 years ago and have gone through 3 kids and I will pass them on when done, they still have plenty of life left in them. They fit my babies from about one month to potty training!

You can check them out at http://www.vilatesniftynook.etsy.com

And I can't rave about wool enough! Wool covers are the best, for more of my opinions and info on this you can go to the "help with wool" conversation thread, There is alot of information there.

Terri, have I told you you can go to the "business links" conversation thread and post your site there?

We love pocket diapers. Fuzzi Bunz used to be my favorites until they changed them to "New and Improved." Then I tried the bumGenius 3.0 and they definitely became my favorites!
I am new to this community, so I hope it is okay to say this, but I have a cloth diapering website and sell pocket diapers and accessories. If you would like to take a look, it is www.ClothKisses.com.
Good luck finding something you like! :)

I love my BumGenius 3.0's, but I also love the G-Diapers! The GDiapers have disposable liners, but I found taking a prefold and sticking it in there works just as well, and all you have to do is wash and reuse! I take a diaper doubler and fold it into the middle of the prefold just for extra absorbancy. Hope this helps some.
