At the hospital where I delivered my daughter, they had a lactation consultant visit me several times while I was there. She was very helpful. A week after I went home, a nurse/lactation consultant visited me at home with some more great advice. Without their help I doubt I would have been successful. You should definitely find out how to get in touch with one in your area. Good luck!

Look up your local branch of La Leche League and call the leader. If you haven't had the baby yet, go to a few meetings or check out their book: The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. If you've already had the baby, set up a meeting with your local La Leche League leader ASAP.
