I started using Cloth-eez pre-folds. I got them from Green Mountains diapers. They are great and 100% cotton. I use the white (bleached) plain cotton, a friend told me the "natural" ones were not as good. A good price too, and they ship super fast. I ordered on Sun they came on Tues. There is a prepping process, but they give you a booklet on "how to". It has been a good reference for me in these first few weeks of cloth diapering my 5 month old. Good luck! I was clueless at first but now I have my routine down it's smooth sailing.

The cloth diapers sold in stores are only ggod as burp clothes. I realize you said you're not a big fan of ordering online but that is the ONLY way, I have found, to buy quality clothe diapers. If you are looking specifically for prefolds, www.greenmountaindiapers.com has great chinese organic and non-organic prefolds for dirt cheap. That is where I get all my prefolds, love 'em. And the website also has TONS of advice for those new, and not so new, to clothe diapering! Happy CDing!
