Ideas on swithing Bum Genius 3.0 to snaps

I've started converting mine over as the aplix wears out too! Kam Snaps (Google their website!) has all the matching snaps so you can't even tell they've been modified! They also have customer submitted charts that show where others have placed the snaps! Super useful and convenient!

Yea my sons the same tall and skinny lol. yea i'm not sure about bumgenius but most snap pocket nappies will last about 3 chldren, except pea pods as there not very good quality.

I have converted about 5 diapers so far. I am very pleased with the results. She can not take them off, and they still fit her well. She is a tall skinny kid, so at 20 months she still has four snaps on each side.
I am also excited because now I can wash my newborn diapers (fitted flannel cloth with snaps) with my bum genius.
I am hoping that the snaps do extend the life, it seems like with no velcro to cause excess friction in the machines they will last longer.

I have used snap all in one nappies for my son from birth, my ones brand is something like mummys touch. Hes now 2 and only just starting to work out how to undo him (they also still fit with room) but he can't if I put pants on him with a adjustable band like trackies.

I had this problem with my son and here's what I did: I basically started to potty train him:
If I was home, I let him run around outside with no diaper and taught him that everytime he peed, he should use the potty. I put our potty chair outside, showed him how to use it a few times, and kept reminding him.
If it was cold and we were in themy house, every 15 minutes, I had him sit on the potty chair, made the "pssssss" noise and reminded him that he needed to pee on the potty. The potty chair lived in the kitchen (it's easier than running down the lenght of the house to the bathroom). Sure, some of my house got peed or pooped on, but that's what carpet cleaner is for. We made a huge clapping deal of his acheivements and it helped the 1 year old and 3 year old we were watching to be encouraged to use the potty too.
If we were out and he had to wear a diaper, I put it on backward, that way he couldn't get it off as easily. I got that idea from gDiapers.
I have to say with great success, he was potty trained with an accident about once a week by age 2. Now he's 3, uses the potty completely by himself and we're using the diapers for the little one. We never used just one kind, we have a random assortment from e-bay.

For some reason the sound the velcro makes and any other tearing/scratching sound sends my little girl into hysterics, it scares her to death so I just switched from using the Bum Genius to the Flip diapering system. I love them!!!! They wash as well as the Bum Genius and they fit just as well. I found them more convenient too, no stuffing and less bulk in the diaper bag! They are a little less expensive too so I was able to get a lot for what I sold my BG's for :)...and they are the same company so same cute colors!

I've been thinking of doing the same. I'd love to hear how you went with it. I am also planning on using them for the next baby, and hope the snaps would prolong their life.

I don't have a snap press, so I'd would have to invest in one, but I'm planning on using it for other things too like converting bibs to snaps, and making mama pads for myself.

Thank you so much ladies for the help. I didn't even think to look on the kamsnaps website. I really like kamsnaps. I used them for home made diapers and they work great.

Had my bG 3.0's converted by a WHAM I found on diaperswappers.com & have been soooo happy ever since. No wicking from snaps, no pulling apart the velcro strips, no falling off baby's bottom!!! Seems soooo stupid that Cotton Babies doesn't just start offering them in snaps in the first place...

Ugg I hate snaps lol. Aside from that side note , if you want to switch them all to snaps just make sure you remember to place some snaps at a smaller rise for your next baby. Also to consider, if you punch through the layers, will it cause any wicking?

I'm not a seamstress so I can't offer any advice on how to switch them over, but I can say that I own a few Organic Bum Genius All In Ones with snaps (they came that way) and I love them.

I've recently started converting all of our 3.0 pockets to snaps. So far, I prefer the snaps! It's weird getting used to, but so far it's not bad!
