Moving from cloth diapers to training pants

I can't believe this day is here, but it looks like my son is ready to start transitioning to the potty. (At just under 20 months, hooray for cloth diapers!). Any suggestions on cloth training pants - brands, how many to buy, etc? I usually wash his diapers every two-three days. Also, he's a super-soaker at night, so I expect we'll be using diapers at bedtime for a while. However, I'd like to get him into training pants during the day before he looses interest in the toilet. Thanks!

Gerber makes some with plastic on the outside, or if you used rubber pants, for the diapers you can use them over the traditional ones.

I was using Blueberry Training Pants, but have had A LOT more success just using plain old underwear :)

Thanks! I'll probably get a couple of each and see how they work.

I like Happy Heinys trainers. They come in 3 options: snaps on both sides, snaps on one side, and no snaps so you can pick which ones you like best. In terms of quantity, I recommend about 10 to account for accidents. Of course, if you're home with him the whole time I've found regular underwear to work well and its cheaper.

I just used the Gerber ones from WalMart, that have a thicker middle with my LO. We still use diapers at night and naptime.
I think we have about 10 pairs. When she has accidents in them, I just throw them in the diaper pail.
