up until now i have refused to use a nappy bag... i simply bought a bigger sectional handbag and ccarried a spare nappy, wipes etc in that!
but now i have two kids in cloth nappies... a 14 month and a 1 month. cloth nappies are just too big to fit 4 in my poor old handbag so im thinking i need to get a nappy bag.
any suggestions as to a good nappy bag for cloth which isnt the size of a small house?

Another idea: I often pack my large diaper bag for a day trip and leave it in the car, Then I keep just one change with me in my slightly oversized purse, when we get back to the car, I leave the dirty in the diaper bag and refill my purse with a new clean one. That way you can carry all you want, without lugging the diaper bag every where!

I personally like my small house bag. I bought a Miche bag because its easy to clean and I can change the cover when I no longer want a diaper bag.

If you know how to sew you could make your own. Check out http://www.make-baby-stuff.com/diaper-ba...
That way you could customise to exactly the size you want, and put in any additional pockets and little extras you need.
I do have a diaper bag, it came with our stroller and it's huge. I've been thinking of making a smaller one and cutting up old jeans for it, that way it'd be virtually free.

I go to Target and buy any purse or tote that is inexpensive and that I like when I need a new bag. My current one is trimmer than my diaper bag and holds more

Robin, I hate diaper bags as well. The one that I have is a waterproof tote bag that my husbands Aunt gave me when I said 'that would make an awesome diaper bag! where did you get it?' She couldn't remember where. There is no logo on it. The tiny washing direction label on it says 'Berkeley Designs'.
It measures 17 X 14, and is one big main compartment with a small zippered compartment.
It should be adequate for 2 kids- at the risk of being a nerd, this is what all I had in mine and it was all zipped up-
1 maya wrap ring sling
1 wet bag & 3 one size pocket diapers
2 change of clothes, 2 pairs of socks
1 hat, 1 pair sunglasses
a pocket pack of tissues, a first aid kit
a tupperware container of cheerios
a bottle of lotion, 2 wipes containers
a fleece changing pad
a harness/leash thing
a toddler sized bib & rolled up silicone travel placemat about the size of a small rolling pin
an energy bar for me and a toy cell phone.
