I am due in a couple of weeks with baby #4! I used disposables on the others until 1 month old, I however have desided this time to CD right from day 1. I have lots of NB diapers but am haveing a diaper cover issue! I have 3 Bummis super whisper wraps in NB size, I also have 2 XS and 2 SM Motherease warps that simply look way to big for a NB and 8 Bummis super whisper wraps in size small that also look to big!

Just wondering what size and how many covers did you have for your NB?

Thanks:~)

I used to use the motherease os diaper and wrap system with my other kids, but have since swiched to pocket diapers, I still have some of the small airflow covers as well as the XS rikki wraps, the airflo covers I can fold down at the waiste, but the velcro on the Rikki wraps as well as the bsww may be uncomfortable when folded down. It sounds like the NB size won't fit for long so maybe I should just make due with what I have! After all this is my LAST child. When I used fitteds and covers on my others I would normally use 1 cover for 2 diaper changes then toss it with the dirty diapers to be washed! Thanks for your imput eveyone...been a huge help!

They were Bummis. The small fit but with a little gap in the legs so then I got the NB which only fit for a few weeks. She was a little over 8 pounds at birth.

My dd was only in the nb size covers for about 6 weeks - so I wouldn't get anymore if I were you - you have plenty! I used the bummis sww and a few prorap and one bumkins wrap in the newborn size and had enough for sure.

Just make sure you get a liner or just be careful not to get the prefolds stained by the meconium.

I waited until dd was about 10 days old because all of the cloth covers came so close to her umbilical cord it made me a little nervous.

Just wanted to say motherease are my favorites! they look big, and can be a bit bulky, but that is because the have such great coverage and never leak. I think bummis run small we used nb for maybe two weeks and smalls for 2-3 months. Another great cover is thirsties. when diapers are just wet we air dry the covers and use several times before having to wash them.

Thanks for the imput:) Maybe I will just buy a few more NB sized just to be on the safe side...my NBs seem to get smaller and smaller. Our 1st was8 lbs, 2nd was 6lbs 8 oz, and 3rd was 5lbs 12 oz. all boys and this one is also a boy..LOL!

My LO was 8 1/2 lbs. I had a variety of covers (skipped NB for the most part because of her size) but thirsties xs and small Imse Vimse soft worked best for us. The IV will fit smaller than suggested if you attach the hook and loop lower on the wide loop part and fold over the extra rise. I didn't CD full time until she lost her cord just for ease of it.

What brand were your NB and small wraps? Did the size small fit right away?

I too CD right from the first dipe. As long as you have a good fitted underneath or a PF folded the right way you can reuse the covers so you don't need many. I think you have plenty. I had a small stash at first, about 2 NB and 6 small covers, and washed everyday.

Julie,

Each time I do a diaper change I take a wipe and just wipe it down. Then I put them through the wash each week or if we had a diaper blow out I will rinse it out like a diaper and put it in the wash. They are so easy to take care of and they are a simple frosty white color so you don't have to worry about color matches. Also, they are thin and move with him.

How many do you have? As well how often do you wash them?

my son is 6 months and I can still put him in the nb size covers that I have. They are the good old plastic breathable 100% nylon kind. Dappi, I don't remember the webpage that I found them on but I found them at our local Amish store. I went ahead and got 2 sets of each. They are really easy to clean and dry within a couple of hours. I like them and they work for us.

Good luck.
