I'm starting to look for newborn size cloth diapers. I didn't start cloth diapering my daughter until she was 1. So what do you recommend for newborns. I plan on using disposables for the first few days until the mecconium (sp?) is gone. But after that I don't really know. With my daughter we use mainly sunbaby and alva baby but also a few grovia (all os) but i don't think any of them will snap small enough for a 7-8lb baby. What did you ladies start with? Looking for something on the cheaper side.

I started with the FLIP system. Loved it and still love it. I use other things as well now that she is growing and bigger, but that is what I started with and what we are going to use when our next baby gets here in a couple months. The covers are one size with adjustable snaps to fit the baby and the inserts are not to bulky for an infant. Very easy. *smile* Hope you find something that suits you and your family!

I used the cheap ones from wally world till DD was about 10lbs.

I used terry squares with covers for Charlotte's first 2 years. Then got a bit into MCNs. I'll be using them again, for this one, due next July, and just experimenting with the MCNs until I get a good fit. I have about 12 different brands from experimenting with Charlotte, so will have fun working on that :)

I used a fold that is very compact, and has 8 layers through the crotch and except for the ultimate runny, explosive, ungodly poos, I didn't have too many leaks.
