we used a brand called "motherease" . they are OS and we have used them since his umbilical cord fell off. he was 7.14 at birth. they contain all the BMs, and are absorbent enough for overnight. the initial outlay is expensive, but the set will last until he is trained. they have paid for themselves already. good luck with your search!

I also had small babies and loved the Bum Genius XS All-in-one. No stuffing like the pockets and they were just the right size. Not to mention adorable!!

I'll second the kissuluvs. They are ultra soft, you'll be so excited to put them on your baby. They are also made so that they snap away from the navel. This was something I really liked for my newborns. My son was 8lbs 12 oz and my daughter was 6 lbs 11 oz and they both wore them with great success.

If you sew you can try tie nappies (see the links) they are more adjustable, with like a wool soaker or you longies

I just used my good ol' fashioned squares of flannelette. That way you can fold them to be whatever size you like, and as the child grows older the same diapers will accomodate for their size. I haven't tried any pre-made brand name diapers yet, but I have gotten by just fine with the ones I fold.

i loved kissaluvs fitted size 0 for the first 4 months. they were easy to put on and were easy to wash. when stains didn't come out, i just put them out in the sun to bleach. with the fitteds, i didn't have a single blowout. after 4 months, i switched to bumgenius one size 3.0. after 4 months of use, i absolutely love them. i think they'll be the last cloth diapers i buy.

I just saw the GM diapers recently, and they look amazing. . .but pricey. .. hmm might have to splurge on this little one! LOL Wouldn't be so bad if I thought I was having more, but she's our last. . .

I was thinking of trying to make some diapers I'm in the process of making fleece pants. Are you going to sell the diapers you made on hyena cart, ebay? What other fitted one size do you like? I bought the GM because someone told me how much they loved them.

LOL, we're the same! but I only have 3 GM's, and one more coming. The rest of my fitteds I've made, or I have some that I need to sell. I'm in the process of developing my own pattern. From what I have so far I like it more than the GM's, but I haven't had time to make more.

all of the fitted I have are GM! I love them I'm not really a huge fan of pockets for the day just over night or when I'm at work so it's easier for my hubby!! I don't like cleaning out bm in pockets!

I have both sized and fitted. It could go either way. I personally don't care for pockets because I hate stuffing. My best fitting diaper at the moment is sized, but that's only because I'm having a fit issue and I need to re-do my stash a bit. Sized tend to be trimmer than OS, but I LOVE my goodmama OS, so go figure.

I didn't start using cloth until my son was 3 months. If you find something that works well I would love to know for my next baby. Also all of the cloth diapers I have fitted & pocket are one size diapers except for one fuzzi bunz. Do you think that they fit better when you get different sizes rather than a one size diaper?

I LOVED my newborn swaddlebees. I had a big baby (9 lbs, 11 oz) and they fit him until close to 6 weeks. They have a sewn in quick dry soaker, and are side snapped, so they fit a variety of shapes and still wash easy. And they're super soft. The velour tends to grab even the most liquidy poos, and I never had a blowout with them.

I've had issues with the bum genius fitting my toddler at times. . .I was thinking of maybe a good fitted? Then I can use regular small wraps. . .and shorties/longies that grandma is knitting.

I would try Bum genius one size they start at 7lbs.
