Hello, we are new to cloth diapering and am looking for suggestions for a good night time diaper that is not too bulky. We have been using prefolds with a hemp insert and a polar bummi cover and it just seems way too bulky and uncomfortable for our little one. I am also trying a fuzzibuzz pocket diaper with a hemp insert and will see how that works. But was looking for others advice.

So I would go with Wool covers at night they are super absorbent and if you get them made right very soft. i sell some on my etsy shop http://www.vilatesniftynook.etsy.com

If you don't see what you need or you want somehting different just let me know. I custom make items.

If you are crafty there is a link in the links that is to patterns for wool soakers and longies!

Good luck!

I have a super soaker as well and what I have found works best is a small prefold folded into thirds inside a larger prefold, My favorite cover is the super whisper. See diaperpages.com for pics and some other really helpful ideas, this is where I found a lot of great advice.

I have an extremely heavy wetter at night (we used to use pocket dipes with two BG large microterry inserts and she'd still soak through), and I recently found nighty-night diapers (fitted OBV diapers) made by Green Sprout Baby. They are made to order, so usually take 2 weeks or so to ship, but they are the only things that my daughter doesn't wet through. It is also less bulky than all of our other night-time methods.

BG is great! The suedecloth on the inside feels dry to the touch and the microterry inserts are really nice. I have never had any leaking and the best part is they are OS! Hemp is good, but is heavy and I did an experiment and put a cup of water in two bowls and the microterry soaked up more than my hemp doubler. BG OS comes with two inserts, the one with snaps and a thinner doubler. I really only need the large one with snaps for my jellybean.

I am partial to Little Beetle, they have a doubler built into the dipe, and middle layer soaker layer sewn into the actual dipe (reduces bulk and increases absorbancy), and you can slip another doubler into the the dipe (behind the built in doubler). It's a lot of layers, but all in the center so it's not super bulky.

I use a BG or Haute pocket with the insert it came with and a hemp insert. to make it less bulky at night i size it up one. this works really well for our little girl and she is usually a very heavy wetter (and occasionally even leaves us other presents during the night...) Every now and then it might be slightly damp around the leg area but we have never had any major leaks. She sleeps from 8 pm to 7:30 am.
Hope this helps!
