We are about to order our second batch of diapers (one size or in a large 20 plus pounds). Our son is 20 lbs and 27 inches and only 4 months old. We like pocket diapers and we were looking for suggestions on brands to order. We have tried several but were looking for others advice. We are using pocket change Large right now and they are supposed to go up to 35 LBS but there is no way they seem to small at 20 lbs.
Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions.

Fuzzi Bunz are fantastic, just remember the pockets are only as good as your stuffers. But Fuzzi's have great adjustable fit and a soft liner. No wicking either. Super quick drying too.

I have a tiny 6 month old and a tiny 4 year old ans we use Fuzzi Bunz for both of them! We only have size small, my 4 year old wears them only to bed, and they do the trick! I LOVE these diapers, comfy and very functional!

Quoting Christine:

The pattern I have found is that people with chunky babies love fuzzy buns while people with thin babies love Bum Genius

I agree with Christine -- we have a thin baby and the BGs work for us, whereas the FuzziBunz leak badly at the leg (we still use them occasionally and usually throw them in the diaper bag for quick trips).  We love the BG3.0s and never have leaks, though we add a hemp doubler overnight.

Fuzzi Bunz are what has worked best for me. My daughter is 26 pounds and still fits the mediums just fine. We do have some large she wears also, we have not experienced any problems with those.

The bumGenius didn't work well for us. They seem too small even thought they are one size. My daughter is just too chunky for them I guess.

Fuzzi Bunz and Rocky Mountain Diapers. RMD are adjustable and you can use them the hwole type you are diapering your little one. A bit more pricey but worth it!!

Quoting Tara:

We love, love our bumGenius 3.0's and I am getting ready to try the Good Mama one size fitted. I am looking for a more trim dipe.

If your baby is petite and you want a trim diaper, I'd recommend the sized Swaddlebees (as opposed to their "one size" line). I bought one at a local store and it's my favorite diaper so far--even though the fleece lining isn't the same high quality fabric the BG3.0's have, it's comparable to Fuzzi Bunz and Haute Pockets. It's *so* trim my husband didn't even notice she was wearing a cloth diaper the first time I used it, and I normally hear some grumbling about how big the cloth diapers look on her and how it must not be comfortable, etc. I think Nikki's Diapers sells them, with a free insert.

I bought a medium for my 12 pound 3 month old and it's just the right size. She wears size small (and could probably even be extra small) in the other brands.

We love using the BumGenius and Wahmies One Size Pockets. Those are the only two we have used, but I've heard great things about all the others too!

If you're going to buy Fuzzi Bunz, check out clothdiaperclearance.com. They sell FB "seconds" at really cheap prices--I just bought two in size small for my daughter (3 months, 12 lbs). I haven't used FB before, but the second quality diapers look just fine to me.

If you sew give it a shot and try to make them yourselves. If not, you can look at mine, I don't have any listed in my shop right now but you can go to the sold items and I have a single diaper with some good pics, or I made a bunch for a gal, and they are listed there now too. Let me know if I can help you. If you need a pattern I have tons of links!

We currently use Blueberry pocket nappies. They fit really well on our 7 month old daughter, are so easy to clean and dry. On the downside, they are not absorbent enough during the night on their own..... would recommend an additional liner.

I use Mommy's touch one size. My 20 month old big boy has been in the same dipes since he was about 10 lbs. He is now 30 lbs and they are still working for me.

I love my Tiny Tush Elite diapers. They have a 4 size adjustable snap system so I think they would work really well for you. They have come with 2 inserts for double absorbancy. They have a snap system for closing too, as opposed to velcro that is easier to take off for your little one and lasts longer than velcro. You can check them out at my site, www.nellsnaturalbaby.com. If they don't fit your little one, you can return it within 30 days. I know a good fit is really important!

I actually have to agree that fuzzi bunz are a good fit for plump babies... we had small & large fuzzi bunz... i thought I could skip mediums to save money... lol... the larges were always huge & we really only liked them at night for extra stuffing... so if you do go with fuzzi bunz, go with medium for sure... medium fbs seem larger to me then standard medium very baby... Good luck! Diaper shopping is so much fun... have you checked out diaperswappers dot com? There's lots to see there! :D

I tried Happy Heineys, Swaddlebees without much excitement and then fell in love with Fuzzi Bunz.. I think they are a better fit for "plump" babies ;)

We have been very happy with our (homemade by me) medium very baby... they fit from birth (tad bulky on 9 lb babies) to potty learning for my son at 3 1/2 years/ 35 lbs... all but at night. at night we used larges, but they were huge! If you have them custom made at this stage, I'd recommend a litter larger around/rise then a medium, like halfway between a med/large, which should help with extra stuffing at night & guarantee the fit until potty learning time... :D

We used Snap-eze and Drybees right before my daughter was potty trained. I LOVED the snap-eze. They had a skinny large that fit my daughter perfectly! They also have a chubby medium.

It has been almost a year since I have bought any dipes though.
