Hi everyone...this is my first post on here. I'm attempting to make my own cloth diapers and I was at a discount fabric shop the other day that ONLY had Polartec Fleece 200 and 300. The store is far away from my home and unfortunately because of their low prices, they lack customer service. All I had was my iphone to get any information. I would love to be able to purchase bamboo velour to make my own, however, at $12/yard I'm a little hesitant. So all in all- I got a great discount now I have 5 yards each of 200 and 300 Polartec fleece. I'm such a newbie that I don't even know if this is considered micro-fleece?? Can I use it as an inner liner or even an insert?? Or is it too water repellent? I thought it would make a nice liner cause it's so soft...but will it absorb anything to be used as insert?? Can I sew it around another type of fabric and still use it as an insert?? Thanks for any advice. I'd hate to not be able to use it.

hi, where was that store where you found the polartec fabric? I have been looking for it everywhere. I use it on my dog weight pulling harnesses. I don't know about with diapers because it doesn't absorb water very well and it sours really fast. Slow to absorb but then holds it in. Definetly soft and thick. Could you possibly e-mail the address of that store? My e-mail is mightyharnesses@yahoo.com. Thanks

Thanks Jessica! I think I've given up on making my own. I think I'll just go with a diaper service.

If its 100% polyester it will not absorb anything! That being said it will make a great liner or shell as a cover or soaker!
