Our little girl is now 10 mos old and seems to be quite forceful when she has a bowel movement. It seems to all aim forward and end up in all her folds and cracks nearly up to her belly button sometimes. Any ideas?

my daughter is now 15 months old and we went through this for a bit - but now that she is a little bit older and her poop is a little bit firmer and she squats when she poops we don't have that problem as much. Depending on if you are doing EC or not - you might just have to wait a month or two and she will outgrow this really messy way of pooping.

Consider the elimination control mentioned, i hear that's effective.
Also, what style of diaper are youusing.. maybe its too loose around the leg and waist.. Make sure your diaper or cover is tight to the leg and back, preferably elasticized.
we still deal with this often with my 21 onth old... but.. its mostly contained in the diaper now.. unless he's taken it off....(wink..more fun to come!)

I have just started ECing (Elimination control). I wish someone had suggested a potty to me when my little man was first born. He would blow out of his nappies every day up to his neck! Thanks god that has mostly settled now!

I hate dealing with diaper blow-outs. My solution is that I try to catch him BEFORE he poops. I put him on our little baby bjorn potty first thing in the morning, after naps, and any time it looks like he's got his "poop face" on. It's so much easier cleaning the poop up from the potty than from the baby!
