I completely love the Kooshies/Kushies brand...I have tried about ten different brands and these are by far the best for my kids. You can get three different styles - AIO, ones with an inner waterproof barrier but you really still need a cover, and then just ones with no barrier and you definitely need a cover. I use the first and second, but prefer the second with a nice cover...no leaks and very easy to use. No stuffing or extra liners needed.

I love Thirsties AIO's. Hate Kushies so much. My baby is 5 months old and the smalls are still too big for her and she always has leaks when wearing them. We also use swaddlebees and bum genius with pockets and are pretty happy with them. Mothers ease covers are great too. If you can't tell, I've tried alot of diapers and covers.
Side note: I have a large stash of diaperwrap and dappie diaper covers in size small and medium that I'm not using if anyone is interested in buying.

hi i have 3 different brands of cloth fitted nappies I use itti bitti, berry lush and Honey child. the berry lush and itti bitti ones have the snap in linners the honey child are the pocket style were you put your own linners and boosters in them and all 3 types do up by press studs which I think is better then velcro

We used, with great success, Poppolino AIOs with great success. There' are made very much the same as Motherease, apparently the companies used to be linked and jointly manufacture nappies for each others orders in Europe vs. Americas, though I don't know who did which continent.
My children are out now, but if I were buying now, I would definately go for bamboo. Likewise AIO are more expensive, but if you have family who arn't keen, they more likely to help with AIOs, than the cheaper prefolds, etc...

Thanks everyone for the advice! The Motherease order has been placed and we're really looking forward to ditching the disposables!

Gro Baby! It's new on the market. They studied diapers such as Bum Genius and made them better. They fit 8-35lbs. We were a disposable family for the first 10 months and switched to these. It was an easy transition and we are all very happy with it... especially my little one.

I personally like my diapers. http://www.niftynappybyvilate.weebly.com
there is also tons of CD info and a list of different diaper types.
That is funny that your hubby doesn't want and AIO! Usually the men want it as easy as possible. I would totally agree though! I wouldn't go AIO cause they aren't breathable, I also avaoid pockets for the same reason! I love a good fitted with a wool cover. Totally breathable! Less rashes as a result and cute diapers to boot!

We use the cotton Motherease and they are great! The covers are totally leak proof. We have all large sized diapers and S,M and L covers. That way you don't have to buy so many diapers since they will all fit inside the smallest covers. I recommend getting the extra pads to go inside for nighttime. They wash best in cold water, low residue detergent and a 1/2 cup of vinegar in the rinse cycle. Hanging them in the sun to dry will get out stains. Our diapers were passed down from a generous friend and they have performed wonderfully for 2 babies over a course of 5 years!

i know which brand NOT to use. kushies. i used them with my first, and they are OK, but just ok. they are not as absorbent as others and after many washes (where the velcro was attached) started to tear on the ones that had the waterproof cover attached. so i'm going to try new ones for the next babe :)

Thanks for advice! Been speaking to a few of my friends at the Breastfeeding Support group I go to and they all said don't do AIO! They all recommend Motherease with a wrap instead. Any opinions on this one? :)

if you are going to go with and AIO i'd say go with Pockets instead. they are virtually the same but you can adjust the absorbancy and they dry faster. and what is it with husband's not being keen on it?! i hear the same story ALL of the time!! but truthfully, i have a wonderful hands on husband who is actually pro cloth diaper but he just hung up his first load of diapers after 8 months! dad's are always against CD's but they don't really do much of the changing or washing unless they are a SAHD! anyway, i think Happy Heiny's makes a great one size pocket. they seem to fit a little bit larger babies than Bum Genius (they have an extra row of snaps). If i had more $$$ i would get swaddlebees because they are all fancy organic material but you pay for it!
good luck.

If you want to go with an AIO I recommend the Bumgenius AIO! I have found it to be a great diaper, along with the BG Pocket. The BG AIO also has a slot where you can stuff a doubler for nighttime or times where you need more absorbancy if you want. I have had no leaks and a great trim fit. AIO's do take longer to dry but I find one dryer cycle does dry these diapers for me. I would recommend buying 1 and trying it!

Mm...
AIOs are alright. A lot of people like the Bumgenius ones.
I only tried bumkins and didn't especially like them.
If you're willing to stuff pockets, they function a lot like an AIO but you can control the absorbency a little more. I personally like the Swaddlebees Econappi, but a lot of ladies don't like it and it's super pricey. I just have one. :o) Bumgenius one-size are super popular, and can last longer since the size is adjustable.

My hubby's not too keen on the idea so the all in ones probably! My little girl is 4 1/2 months old now and I hate using disposables.
