I want to either make my own or buy a cloth swim diaper. I actually would prefer to make them so I can have multiple. I need suggestions, please.

You know I have found that using a diaper cover works just as well. I have millions of diffrent covers by I really like my wiggle worm bottom covers there great. Just need to make sure the elastic around the legs is tight to keeps any stool in.

I have a Bummis swim pant and also a Gabby's swim diaper. They are both good and adorable but I find the bummis one easier. You might want to call your local pool to find out which one they recommend. Where I live the pool sells Gabby's b/c it's the only one they 'allow' (not that they will check what's under your baby's swimsuit, right?)

Speedo sells them too in underpant style and also boardshorts with the nappy attached inside.

I've never made a cloth swim diaper, but I own a couple and can see that it would be pretty easy. I have a Bummis swim diaper which looks a lot like a standard wrap-style diaper cover. It's okay, but my favorite is our Bambino Mio swim diaper. It's just like a little speedo with a drawstring waist. There's nothing absorbent about it, I think they're just meant to have nice firm leg and waist gussets to hold in poo, but pee just seems to leak right out of it. We take toddler swim lessons (my son is 19 months) at a pool that requires cloth swim diapers (isn't that awesome of them?) and all the kids seem to wear this simple style. Wish I had a pattern or ideas for you on homemade, though! I love making diapers! :)
