Hey all! I was wondering what other cloth diapering moms do for swim time? Do you just suck it up and buy disposable swim diapers? Or are there other options? I'd love to hear everyone's thought!

There are swim diapers you can buy. But I just use a white bum genius shell with no insert. The disposable swim diapers aren't meant to hold pee, just poo. So thats why I don't use an insert.

I've got a brilliant little swim nappy, terry inside with plastic-type outer. Found it at the supermarket (Asda), and it's done both my kids which I think is fantastic for £5! x

Monkey Doodlez has GREAT swim diapers. They are currently 35% off at www.nickisdiapers.com. They are cute, and only about $11-12 each. I use them to send the kids in the backyard to play too because they end up dirty and in the sandbox, then I'm not wasting a diaper. I just rinse it out quick, hang it up, and put on a new swim diaper. They still won't hold in pee, like regular swim diapers, but they will hold in poop. They can't hold in pee because then they wouldn't be safe in a pool (if they held water, they would weigh down the baby in the pool). Hope that helps.

We have always just used a pocket diaper with no insert and have had no problems!

I've taken my son and just used a pocket diaper with no insert. I put on his swim trunks over top. I was thinking about buying an Imse Vimse swim diaper, but just haven't gotten to do so yet.

Well, my baby did her business before we left for the party...So, I can't report back if the Finis would have worked to contain a #2. We have another pool party next weekend...so maybe the Finis will get tested then.

it will be my baby's first pool party this weekend, so i just bought Finis Reusable Swim Diapers ($8.99) from diapers.com. She is in between 6 & 7 months and weighs between 17-18 lbs and fits in the medium sized Finis.

I hope that it contains the solid waste. Its obvious these are not meant to hold in urine though. So, I am going to put in a premie size prefold inside as an insert. I bet it will just absorb the pool water though.

I will let you know this weekend how well the Finis fair.

We have a couple Imse Vimse swim diapers. I love them and they have pretty cute patterns to chose from. You can put swim trunks or a swim suit over the swim diaper but I think they're too cute to cover so my Bub wears his swim diaper with a UV Skinz swim shirt.

We have a cloth swim diaper; you just wash it and re-use! It is like terry inside, and swishy (?) material on the outside. Got it at B R Us.
