She will use her potty every other day but never anything consistant. We have tried the reward system but it doesn't seem to matter if she gets a sticker or not.

Thanks for the link, but $24 for an e-book! It better be good. I think I'll give it a bit more time first.

I hope everyone is right - we're also in the middle of this right now and I'm waiting for it to click (at almost 27 months). We have stickers she gets to put on a calendar in her room (also helps us keep track of how she's doing). We started with the training pants last Monday, and it comes and goes since then - some good days, so bad, but since we cloth diaper anyway the extra washing from her "accidents" isn't that much,a nd she likes to wear the pants so I don't feel l like we're pushing it too much.
For us it's complicated by the fact she goes to daycare full time, but they have been supportive so far, and her best successes have been there (peer pressure).
One question (sorry if I'm hijacking, but it's related to potty training a 2 year old after all!)... should I be worried that she holds her pee for several hours (refusing to go on the potty?) or is that actually a good sign that she is ready to potty train even if she's not always 100% keen on the potty!?
We'll get there right? No-one ever went to college in diapers!

You just gotta keep at it. If she has just turned 2 she might be a little young, but she will figure it out. Treats or stickers help, and ALWAYS make a big deal out of it-praise, call dad to tell him, etc. We did stickers, and rewarded her with panties that she picked out to get that final poop-in-the-potty training done. She regressed and we used candy as a reward to re-train(optional depending on your opinion of giving candy to your child). I also use a little seat on the toilet, maybe that might help to be using the real thing. It might just click all of a sudden, it might take a while. Every child is different.

After potty traning 5 I have realized taht you just should wait until she is ready or else you are just potty traning yourself to take her potty. let her go when she wants and soon she will always want to. Give her a potty treat and leave it at that. We always called grandma or daddy at work and told them to that they went potty. be excited but don't push it! Good luck!

When my daughter was 22 months I just put her in underwear on a Monday and never looked back. I would just set her on the potty every half hour. If she didn't pee I would set the alarm for ten minutes and try again. I stayed home all week and by Friday she was pretty well trained. My son is 22 months and I haven't started with him. He makes me a little more nervous. I doubt he will be as easy.

I say let her run around naked! Of course if you have carpet this may be an issue :-)
