I put mine in behind the passenger seat cause when parked on the side of the road its the curb side. :) sorry typeing with baby in one arm cant type much

thanks for the advice. I got this seat (the convertible type) over a year ago at my baby shower. Now that my son has outgrown his infant seat, I'm ready to install it and can't find the owner's manual!...But I will track down that info at a saftey inspection or call Britax.

I had heard before that it was behind the driver, and I know in our truck it is...in fact it says not to put a car seat in teh center. But in our Jeep it says to put it in the center and I know some cars say to....it is usually listed in the owners manual where the safest place is. I do know that they are never supsed to be placed in the captians style seats for a number of reasons. I hope this helps some...I know its not a real answer, but if you don't have an owners manual I know that if you go to a car seat safty inspection they have a book where they can look it up, or you can call a dealer for whatever car you have if you don't have an owners manual and they should be able to tell you what the manufacturers guidelines are.

If you can, the center back is the safest place. That way, they are further away if you get hit on the side of your car.
