What to do at night?

My daughter is 3 1/2 months old and we have been using the G-diapers cloth for almost two months now. We are currently still putting a disposable on her at night because we are attempting to establish a sleep scedule and it's been easier if I don't change her at night.

Does anyone know of any super absorbant nighttime solution that won't leave her soaked?

you can get a thirsties fab fitted diaper and I stuff 2 infant prefolds folded into 3rds inside the pocket for extra leak protection then use a thirsties diaper cover and no leaks and my daughter is happy in the morning

We use a hemp fitted and wool or fleece at night, works great. My DD is not a super heavy wetter so we don't need to add a doubler but the fitted is very wet in the morning. Sometimes I will use a premium prefold with an infant prefold as a doubler and then a wool cover over top and then the diaper isn't even wet all the wasy through, and well lanolized wool is totally bulletproof her pajamas are never wet at all and she sleeps 11 hours at night.

My little man (16 months) is a heavy wetter:) I use gDiapers and my cloth inserts work well during the day but don't cut it at night. I have been using a prefold in them and haven't had any leaks so far. It's kind of bulky, but he doesn't care (and it works).

i think we're more worried about our little darlings being wet then they are lol! until a few months ago we only ever used pampers...all the time. my son is now 23 months old and actually sleeps better with the CD than he did with the pampers!

I double up two hemp liners in our Happy Heiny diapers. For a 3 month old you might only have to use 1 hemp and one regular liner. They work great although the hemp liners do take a while to dry after washing them, but thats okay becasue they work great at night, so it's worth they extra effort.

I have to say, we have been cloth diapering our daughter from the beginning and we use one disposable at night too. One of the thoughts behind cloth diapering is that they feel it more when they are wet (thus the idea that cloth-diapered babies tend to potty train earlier). I did not want my daughter feeling wet at night or having it interrupt her sleep, so we use one disposable then. Judging by how SOAKED it is in the morning, I don't think the cloth diapers could handle that amount of moisture and still keep her comfortable, even if I did double up on the inserts like I do for naps. 11-12 hours is just too long for a cloth diaper.

We use a FuzziBunz perfect fit diaper with 2 inserts and that gets us through the night.

At night I use a thick flat and gDiaper insert with a wool cover- she is 1 year now and we've been doing that for at least 5-6 months. It gets us through the night and sometime well into the morning, if she feels so inclined to sleep that long! I will probably start to use a prefold (thicker and more capacity) instead of the flat diaper because she is sleeping longer and wetting more...

For night time, I used a BumGenius 3.0 stuffed with a SuperDo insert up until my son was around 30lbs and outgrew the diaper. I now use a fitted diaper with a wool cover and his bed and pj's are dry every morning. I really wish I would have switched to fitteds and wool much earlier in our cloth diapering.

my son is 22 months and since using CDs we haven't had one leak...with the expensive pampers he had leaks nearly every night! i use a fitted pocket (flannel) and stuff it with a homemade terry doubler and an indian cotton prefold! with the cover no leaks!

I use ATD (All Together Diaper) brand AIO diapers, available at clothdiaper.com. I have only had one overnight leak in 10 months - and my son can be a very heavy wetter.

The general rule of thumb for cloth diapers at night for 8+ hours is the following:
fitted diaper (bamboo or hemp) + doubler/insert (bamboo or hemp) + cover (wool, fleece or PUL). If you have a heavy wetter, I would definitely ere on the side of using hemp for your fitted diaper and doubler and a wool or fleece cover. This combo is bullet proof.

This site lists the brand names of tried and true nighttime combos that moms have used and swear by. As an FYI - I would not recommend a pocket or AIO diaper for nighttime - they tend not to hold up well.

My husband and I have the same problem. Our 8 month old daughter is well hydrated ALL the time!!!! So, she has wet diapers all the time! We use Pampers at night. I only have to use one of the 12 hour diapers...they absorb her wetness really well. I figure $8 dollars a month isn't terrible...and she can sleep through the night without needing changed because of a leaky cloth diaper!

We use bum genius and only had an issue at night once she was near a year. With the bum genius we started using the normal insert and the doubler once she was bigger. Now she is 19 months old and a super soaker. We have to use two large regular inserts, one doubler, and one home made insert (it is just four layers of bamboo). If you want to stay with your brand maybe order some some zorb and bamboo. It really absorbs a ton.
