My baby recently started eating baby food and it has changed her bowel movements. They are no longer super liquidy like when just breastfeeding, but they are not solid stools yet. They are more pasty, do I need to start using the diaper sprayer now or wait till they are solid stools? Thank you, and sorry for all the yucky details!

We used a sprayer from the start. Helped keep things clean and keep my hands out of the muck. Then into the laundry tub with only water and baking soda until I was ready to wash.

start using it. i used it for cloth that just had pee in it so they wouldnt get a smell in them

I loved my sprayer/bucket system (The Potty Pail) during this transition time. I found it to be a life saver! If you don't already have one, I'd say don't even bother getting one, because the stools will be all solid soon.

You don't ever HAVE to start. LOL!! I diapered 6 kiddos without one. :) But I hear they are nice.
I did a dunk ad flush kinda thing. I didn't get my hands all yucky either. I would turn the diaper poopy side out and down over the toilet. Then I would hold the tabs and the front and I would dunk it a few times, swish it around. Then hold on tight and flush...the water pulls the poo off as it flushes down the toilet. do a quick flip so it poopy side is back inside the diaper. Then drop it in the bucket.

I never used a sprayer at my home. When I tried them, they sprayed water and poo and were more trouble then they were worth. But if you already have one, whatever.
I just dunk. I would wash my hands thoroughly after using a sprayer anyhow, so for me, it was just faster and easier to dunk. But I know some really don't like that. When they are doing all solids, the poop just plops out, you don't need to dunk or spray. It's this middle ground, peanut butter-y poop that's the tough one, so you're in the worst part now! :D
