It has been awhile since I have posted. I lost my dad just a few weeks ago, so haven't really been keeping up with some things. But I wanted to check in to meet some of the new "Nutmegger" Moms and say, "welcome!".
My intention for creating this group was inspired by my friend Rachel. She was new to CT-a submariners wife in SE CT. From a different part of the country, here temporarily, at home with a beautiful baby girl needing to get out and do things and meet people. I realized that there must be several moms in her shoes, so what better solution than an online networking place! Since that time almost 600 of us have signed in!
I am hoping as each of you introduces yourselves and posts your location, you are able to connect with other moms in your area, with similar aged children. As you meet up for play dates, etc and take advantage of all that CT has to offer, I hope you are encouraged and feeling less isolated.
A little about me-I have been happily married to my "prince" for 31 years. We have 2 grown "kids"-Caitlin age 21 and Erik age 18. We home educated from start to finish and this year is my first year not schooling! I am still really busy, so other things have moved into that space. We live in the little village of Baltic, right next to Norwich. The lovely Shetucket River runs through town-see the profile picture. My husband Kirk and I enjoy bicycling and have been discovering all the rails to trails in our area and out on the Cape. Really fun! Although it is getting too cold to be on a bike! Kirk is a corrections officer in a max prison and I have had a successful home based business for about 16 years. We are part of the Norwich Alliance Church family and host 2 marriage weekends a year.
I would love to hear your stories about some of the connections you have made. I am native to CT, so if you have any questions, let me know. I will try to help.
Warmly, Phyllis
