Gay Families More Accepted than Single Moms?

People are still completely close minded. Women have always been told they were nothing with out a man, but alot of men can't even take care of their responsibility. Single moms get blamed for everything girls only get pregnent in single parent homes, only do drugs, drink, drop out of school go to jail, live of the tax payers money.
If people actually did the research only about 30% of he kids that have these issues come from single parent homes. My mom raised me on her own my entire life even when she was still married to my father he never did anything for me, but I always had what I needed and my mom paid for everything herself. So people who think that single moms are a burden then they need to be slappedup sid the head wih a chicken.LOL

Okay, I wonder who these 3000 people are, and why their opinions were so coveted as to compromise the view point of all Americans though.

3000 people is all they surveyed! HOW DOES THIS EQUATE TO ALL AMERICANS? Stupid study. Waste of time!

I am stunned by this 'study' but I also think it depends on the general public perception WHERE the research was done.

Sure MONEY wise it might benefit the child(ren) to have two people, but where is the study showing the psychological damage that staying in an unhealthy relationship for 'the sake of the children'.

It's funny that public perception seems to be that single moms are leaching off society. Single moms are raising children, which is a very important job, though society does not place a value on it. Most single moms I know are struggling to make ends meet. They work and pay for all their families expenses including childcare. Further, most are not single by choice. The fathers of their children are deadbeat dads, abusive or have died.

Not all single moms live off the government. I had married my daughters father but he beat me for years so I left. But I worked and paid my own way and didn't rely on anyone but myself. I wanted to be strong for my daughter and to teach her that no matter what happens in life you must pick yourself up and do what you have to do to live.

hmmm I think the public perception is that single moms are living off the government, not marrying the dad so they can get assistance......where gay couples are rarely seen as receiving entitlement benefits?

I think their research was flawed. My older sister is gay and she has two children so I know second hand. I was also a single mom and I think I had it easier than she did.
