Timeline Template

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

Right now there simply isn't opportunity for me to sit down and scrap. I've decided to start journaling my memories (with or without photos). I love the idea of doing a timeline - this is what I do in my mind and sometimes on paper when I read a book (back when I had time to read). I looked online for software to help me, but found many options at different price ranges. My question is this: Has anyone used a Timeline Template? Were you pleased with the results? Did you feel you got your money's worth out of the product?

I haave never used a timeline, but I would like to share a related idea. When my kids were little, I wrote what they said or did on a scrap of paper, added the date and child's initials. Then I threw this paper in a box with a lid. Some of the memories I actually wrote in a journal type book. I have also recopied some of the scraps. Even if you don't get to it for years, at least you'll have the information to put in your scrapbook/babybook later! Good Luck!

Hi Lisa it was late last night when I first wrote you after watching movies.
I use Picasa 3 (Free drown load) for uploading my photo first I sort and edit then. I take photos for one month and I date them like this 19-05-2009 and if we have a special trip its 19-05-2009-Hawaii so they stay in order for time line. I use a journey for trips and keep all memorabilia in a zippered folder plastic on so things don't get damage by liquids. Like I said below I use calendar for all my son's milestones and high lights from school.
My first son baby album is done from birth to two years old so far. It is done with a calendar for each month with photo so I have highlighted all this activities that he did everyday. I might have over did his abit. I have started my second sons book yet. Because I have just purchased Creative Memories Memory Maker 3.0 so I am learning the program yet so I am not sure how I am going to transfer everything yet. It funny you brought up this question because I was looking into how I was going to do all my sons photos from Preschool through Elementary and then High School. My son is now going into grade two I have kept everything and journeyed all his school activities and field trips and edited all this photo now just putting it together is the problem. I have been reading this site to help me out http://scrapbooking.lovetoknow.com/Senio... The only thing I found is when I journal in my journal's for a trip it works great for me because I don't always have a computer around to do it on a program.
I hope I have helped abit. If you find a great program for this let me know.

Hi Lisa

I personally haven't used a time line template for scrapbooking. I use the Creative Memories memory maker 3.0 and do my journeying on this program. But I have a calendar on my fridge that I right quick note on and also a dental cart to record dates of lost teeth and when they came in. My husband uses a free program with Excel for his work. I am not sure how it even works. But here is a site from Excel.
