I am always looking for something pretty or cute to craft. I want to share a keepsake box idea with y'all. I know, keepsake box, I am so original! =D

The materials are a plain, round cardboard box like you find for $3 at Walmart, various lace and ribbons, some paint, hot glue gun, and anything else you'd like to add. I also stuck buttons, little silk roses, string pearls, and a photograph on mine:

To make: First paint your box. After it dries, hot glue ribbon, lace, and anything else you'd like on there. The bottom is easy, just wrap around. On the top, trim ribbon and lace to the edge of the box, and when they are all placed on there, go around with the hot glue to seal all the ends to prevent raveling. Add thinks like buttons, little roses, tiny gemstones, or anything you like as desired.

I make these for all my expecting friends.

Anyone else want to share something easy and cute to make?

I love hearing different ideas for keepsake boxes! If anyone know of creative ways to keep your child's artwork - like a portfolio type thing- I would love to hear about it.....

Dollar Tree always has fun stuff that changes all the time....recenctly, I found Litlle wooden butterflies, tractors, ladybugs, etc that your daughter could paint and also plain hanging boards you could paint something fun on (with the paint skills I know you have!)

If you check out the dollar store they have some great crafting stuff. Yesterday I bought a little wooden shelf that hangs on the wall.. it's small, but theres enough room for my jewelry. I also bought some acrylic paints, gemstone embellishments, and wood glue. All for about $5. I painted it last night and was just waiting for it to dry before I add the sparkly stuff, but it looks great already and it's a great gift idea. My mom's birthday is next month and I'm going to make her one too.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

I LOVE your handprint and footprint blog.  I check it every few days for ideas.  I have made two of the John Deere footprint pictures.  one was from my daughter, the other from a nephew.  My FIL is a JD fanatic, and he adores those pieces.  =)  Just got one left!  My new niece's foot.  Waitng on the print to arrive before i gussy it up.
