Ingredients:

-- 3 or 4 filets of Tilapia (or other favorite white fish)

--1/4 cup mayonnaise

--1/2 cup shredded cheese (I used cheddar. I've made it before with Parmesan and it was amazing. If I was planning a trip to the store specifically to get ingredients for this dish I would pick Parmesan.)

--juice of 2 lemons

--4 chopped garlic cloves

--pinch each of salt and black pepper

The Directions:

--mix all ingredients (except for the fish. definitely not the fish.) in a bowl

--lay out a piece of foil

--rub sauce mixture on both sides of fish

--fold foil over and make a little packet for the fish

--put all the packets into the crockpot

--cook on LOW for 2-4 hours; fish should flake easily with a fork

PLEASE take care when taking the packet out of the crockpot and when opening it. It will be hot.

Okay-- If you didn't cook this in the crockpot..... and I did not to tell the truth. It's just a few hours, so that defeats the crockpots purpose in my opinion.... so I used the oven. I know, very unusual for me...

But - OVEN - 350 degress for 20 - 25 min.... mine was ready at 25... the sauce is creamy & wonderful & full of flavor & I LOVED it...

Conclusion: Bridget: medium thumbs up.... "tasted like fish" , imagine that!! she likes it like "maw-maw's" fish.... that's my mom. She fries catfish for them. They do not get that here. Mom, you spoil them!!! (but, that's okay, you can, you're the Maw-Maw )

Madeline - "It's perfect!! I need more!!"...........Scotty - well, does not like fish, unless it's fried... but he was sweet & gracious & tried it & said it had a great flavor, but again, it "Taste like fish". my loving response was... duh. it IS fish. But wasn't he sweet for trying it??

If you soak your fish in beer or sprite overnight in the fridge it won't have as much of a "fishy" taste to it. That's what i do anyway!

This is so good i made it for lunch today yum! I have to admit I didnt use crockpot either. I made a foil packet buttered the bottom & threw it on the grill. Instead of going to store I used garlic powder & italian mix cheeses asiago, provolon & parmesan. I used everything else as called for..... will be making this again soon thumbs up!
