Hello ladies! I hope you are having a good week... some of u are prob sending your children off to school for the first time...maybe not. As summer is ending I have been trying to brain storm ideas to keep our marriage interesting.. and so i thought who better to get ideas from then you guys. For us, the summer is the peak of our excitement bc we can get out and go places and have a blast but once fall starts our life slows back down. So, what are ideas/things you do to keep your marriage fresh? Do you have a annual date place? A new recipe you try? A set date night? A habit/action that keeps the DH's eyes all on you? Any suggestions would be great.. and we can use this as a learning tool... or a discussion forum.

Please take a moment to comment on this! Thank you all!

What a wonderful list of suggestions Amy!! Ty for sharing those. I have never thought of some of those and how creative/ financially savvy to think to swap houses instead of getting a hotel room!

It is crazy when summer ends and you can't seem to remember any of those good ideas you had about fun stuff you and the hubby were going to do when school started back! Here are a few things we have done or plan to do soon at our house.

Date Night Ideas:

1. Go see a movie at a drive-in if you have one near.

2. Rent a cabin for the night and cuddle up with a blanket and listen to the great outdoors.

3. Spend the evening just exploring downtown in your city or one nearby.

4. Light every candle in your house and lay on a blanket in your floor and talk about plans for the future...or don't talk at all.

5. Go dancing!!

6. Stay a night in a hotel near your home just to feel like you have gone on vacation.( or, swap houses with a friend for the night if budget is a concern...and for most of us it is.)

7. Make cheese and chocolate fondu for two.

Things to do on day hubby is off during the day with you:

1. Go to a flea market or thrift store

2. Go to a book store or coffee shop and hang out.

3. Snuggle up and watch a movie ( un-interrupted)

4. Go hiking or just for a walk around your neighborhood or at the park.

5. Study the Bible together over coffee.

6. Stay in bed all day just because.

7. Get a coupples massage.

8. Do some yardwork or housework together.

Definately set a date night once or twice a month!!! Also, try having a " Family Night" you'll be surprised at how much fun it can be for your whole family. Any questions...please let me know. Hope this helps get your wheels turning.
