Ok so he is 5 1/2 months old and for the past moth or two (I loose track due to loss of sleep) he has decided that he does not sleep. He only takes a few short, like 15min naps during the day and he is usually very easy going laid back personality. Pretty happy most days. It started pretty harmless he would wake a few times just for a moment the put himself back to sleep. Well that grew into waking longer and fussing a bit till I put the binki in his mouth, then he would go right back to sleep. Till now where He wakes crying, sometimes screaming. So I will rush in there and try to sooth him otherwise he will wake himself up completely then he will stay up at that point. Which brings me to my next point he is not fully awake when he does this his eyes are closed and if I can calm him he quiets down and goes back to sleep for a little while. He does not want to eat, nor does he want his bink, he is not too hot or cold, he is teething but even when I give him Tylenol or teething tablets he still wakes every hour so it cannot be that. Gripe water used to sooth him but not anymore. I don't usually pick him up I will sooth while he is still in the crib but if I do pick him up I can usually get a burp out but the gas is probably from all the crying/fussing. He is in the beginning stages of solids but I am not convinced that has anything to do with it. Please help if you can, I have been very patient I know he is not to blame and please do not tell me to let him cry it out I do not believe that is a effective method for my child. Thank you in advance for your help.

oh gosh...i agree with you CIO is not an effective method!! however, i am confused. do you mean that he isn't sleeping well during the daytime or nighttime or both? also, has anything changed in your home?
