I am just opening a dayhome in September, does anyone have any advise for things to include in a parents package, outings, etc... I have a one year old daughter and am probably going to be in and around my home for outings as I don't know how many car seats I can really fit in my car. Any advise, tips, etc... is helpful!!

Thanks!

Are you wanting to have a contract? Have you looked at any contracts? I have some to share with you if you'd like.

Congrats on starting a dayhome! It was a great decision for me and my family!! I make sure to cover EVERYTHING in my parent's package. I have my dayhome policies and information guide, child information forms, parent/caregiver contract, medication consent forms and a list of what the child will need to start dayhome. It took me a few nights to make all of it up, but it was very much worth it. Any questions that the parents might have are answered with that package.

As for outings....unless you are going to keep the car seats permanently in your vehicle, it becomes quite a hassle to go anywhere. If I only have one or two kids coming then we will go out and do some errands or go to a centre that is too far to walk. Most days, our outings include the park or library (which are both within walking distance). I have a double stroller and a wagon. So if need be, I can push and pull at the same time. That usually doesn't happen though :) Most of my kids are great to walk on their own!

You'll find that the kids are able to entertain themselves most days. Don't stress too much about having enough activities and events planned. These are great, of course, when the kids are bored or not getting along well. You'll notice that the kids get into a groove with eachother and look forward to doing their own thing.

Good luck with your dayhome! I hope it goes great :)
