hello. I have recently decided to start a private dayhome so that I can be home for my daughter. Does anyone have any advice or know of any good resources I can utilize. Thank you for any and all advice!

In doing my research before getting started I just googled "starting a day home + alberta". I found some good sites.
simplydaycare.com has great resources, even though it is a US based site. It has paperwork and guidelines, lots of good info!

The best advice that I can give is to make up an information and rules guide and stick to it. Decide on how you want to run your day home, what your hours will be, what your sick and late policies are, etc, and stick to them! As soon as you let something slide one time it will become a pattern and you will start to feel like you are being taken advantage of.
