If you keep up with the story updates, you'll see that she's much older than 9. They aren't exactly sure whether she's 12 or 14, but I think they're going for 12. Granted that's still far too young, but it is a shade different to 9.

Apparently the mom wanted to get her daughter into school when she hadn't been before, so got a fraudulent birth certificate.

all you can do is simply educate your daughters and let them know what's the right way and what's the wrong way. Heck - maybe taking them to a "womens shelter" might slap them scary and see what they can turn up like. There is also a show with Molly Ringwald about kids getting pregnant. Look - it is going to happen at one time or another. Just hope that you have a great relationship to the extent that she will come to you when that time arises. It's all in how you raise them.

First of all where in the hell were the parent's!?! This is awful! She is a baby herself and no telling what this poor child has lived through! The baby has no hope for a normal childhood,mom is only 9 yrs older than child!!!! Sick!

Wow that is crazy! Way too young. It seems like it keeps getting younger and younger. I think 16 is too young.

Yeesh...I had my period when I was 10, so I see how it is possible. I'm guessing a traumatic conception, a traumatic pregnancy and birth...poor little girl. I really hope she'll get the care and understanding she needs.



I know this is terrible to say, but...at least she had a boy. In China, she might have brought more "shame" to herself if it was a girl. I'm not saying that out of ignorance. My TCM doc was a OBGYN in China and the stories I've heard...they would blow your mind. The culture is just very different.

Wow, poor little girl! Honestly, I think anything under 18 is too young. (I know I'm going to offend some people there!) But under 12 is definitely too young. Even if a child does go through puberty before 12, her body just is not mature enough for pregnancy. She may be fine, but there are just too many risks. Not to mention the emotional toll it is going to take! I hope both she and her baby boy will be well taken care of.



And 5, aaaaaaaack! As anti-abortion as I am, if my 5 year old daughter were to get pregnant, I would be getting her an abortion. There is no way I would put a baby through pregnancy! Right after I hunted down the prick who had impregnated her and cut his balls and penis off!

I know, it's sad, isn't it? Every time I read a story like that, it makes me want to cry for those poor babies (the newborn AND the mother).

Oh, I know you can't trust Wikipedia fully, but if you check it out, it is factual. I only posted the Wiki reference because it is probably the broadest information, and it was the quickest one I could find :) But honestly, read the Snopes references too. And you can go to the bottom of every Wikipedia page and verify a lot of the information via the references. So Wikipedia is a good initial source for any information, as long as you follow up the references.

cool... cos i know wikipedia and you cant take it serious..... thats crazy though..... my miss is 5...... and god forbid anything happened to her if she ended up like that theres no way i'd let her go through that..... no way..... to let a 5 yr old have a baby..... and after the way it got there.....

It's actually true Shaz, there was a case. Children can have hormonal issues that send them into early puberty. I'll see if I can find it for you.

how is it even possible for a 5 yr old to get pregnant. Its just a bit early for puberty.... i wouldnt believe that one.... wikipedia is known to fib...... 8 yrs old maybe and 10 i could say is possible but not 5. the body has to mature enough first..... i have never heard or read of a 5 yr old reaching puberty before......

5 is WAY too young. So is 8 and 9. I think when you can't legally work or legally be allowed to drive or vote you're too young to be raising the future of society.

I wonder what happened to the little girl. Surely, she didn't get pregnant voluntarily? She certaintly was too young. Children shouldn't be having children. I think under 16 too young, but I would never encourage anyone who hasn't finished college yet to become a parent. I'd support them if they got pregnant and I'd believe in their abilities, but I would hope they'd be more careful.

I think the newborn's life may or may not be impacted by it's birth mother. Depending on her family and the family situation, the baby may be perfectly well cared for and supported. However, it's sad to me that a girl so young should even have to deal with being pregnant and giving birth.

Poor baby... both of them. :(



My girls are 10 and while they aren't yet quite developmentally capable of pregnancy... it won't be too much longer... and that combined w/ stories like these scares the crap out of me.
