The problem is that we have no idea of all the things we are exposed to, and thus our children are exposed to, on a daily basis. Anything could be the cause of autism. As far as I'm concerned, the scientific community as a whole has our best interests in mind and I feel comfortable giving my child vaccinations. I work in research, and a lot of the info out there is just not credible...I'll take a peer-reviewed, scientific study over mercola.com any day of the damn week. I just feel bad that there are people out there who prey on people's emotions and fears and give out such bad information that unfortunately leads to so many children not getting vaccinated which leads to endangering the lives of people that had no choice.

While its not for all cases, toxins play a HUGE roll in autism, allergies, asthma and even add/adhd -- what you put and have in your body while pregnant - will carry to your chlildren, and what you babies/children are exposed to after birth have a huge impact on health. Genetics are a part of it too - certain health conditions that family members have - seem to bring it on.

I am only stating information Ive heard about and read about -- so dont quote me. Ive also been working with how toxins/acid, etc. can affect a lot of things in our bodies, and give us health problems.

Do your own studies/research - and dig into all aspects of your health. Issues with the digestive tract can have huge impacts on your health as well.



This guy makes me sick -- especially when we are trying to protect our children, and wants the best for our kids, and safe/healthy as possible - for him to throw out false allegations - needs his brain examined! Everyone's bodies are different, and everyone will react to anything in our environment differently - including vaccines. I wonder how many people will be suing his ass!!

I still have a theory that a lot of people who's children have been diagnosed as "Autistic" actually have/had lead poisoning. The symptoms are almost identical AND a lot of toys for children under the age of 3 have been known to have high levels of lead in them. Just food for thought.

my friend has 2 boys both with autism. i've heard that boys have a higher chance of having autism than girls and i've also heard that it most likely is genetic. she believes that her first child was fine until he got kawasaki's (sp?) disease at around 1 1/2 yrs old. he had a really high fever for days and then after that it seemed like all the progress he made just stopped, and he regressed.i've heard recently that john travoltas son also had kawasaki's disease and they believe that was the cause of his autism. her second child didn't get sick with anything and he was recently diagnosed with it at age 2. i soooo wish they could find the reasoning behind why it strikes some and not others, there are so many factors involved, but i do believe that there has to be some genetic component to it, whether the vaccine can set it off, or a fever or whatever i don't know, but to me is has to be genetic.

we also need to have people who are studying this not to have their own personal agendas and creating havoc (sp?) for no reason. this man makes me so angry, i feel he is personally responsible for the deaths of children that got measles, and mumps, that weren't vaccinated purely from his tainted study. it makes me upset that people like him take us back years in actually finding the reason why autism happens.

That's a good point Cathy. There are MANY different conditions which may not be caused by something such as a vaccine, but we do have to keep in mind that there is a predisposition to certain conditions and trigger events may bring to the forefront.

I have a child with high functioning autism and as Jenn said the signs were all there long before the vaccine was given, and it still wasn't apparent to me till a long time after.

I do understand though how parents with children who suffer sudden onset autism and total regression within days of the vaccination still have reservations. While I don't believe it can cause autism, I do question as to whether or not it can progress the symptoms in a child where maybe only mild autism exists.

I always worried that the vaccines had been a problem, but once Peter was diagnosed and I learned about the criteria, I realized that the behaviors were present long before the vaccine was given to him. The time line (around 18 months) just happens to coincide with the more noticeable onset of symptoms. Thinking back though, he had certain behaviors long before the vaccination. Hindsight is 20 / 20..... if you will allow yourself to see it.

I think that parents with a disabled child want a reason. The causes of autism are so unclear and it is easier to point a finger at vaccines.
