I've just started noticing recently that I am a yeller. By that, I don't mean that I scream at Jacob all day or that I'm constantly yelling at him. What I mean is that the more frustrated I get, the louder my voice gets. I'm guilty of having stood in my living room with one hand on my hip and the other pointing towards Jacob's room and saying sternly and a little louder than I probably should..."GO TO YOUR ROOM" (on more than one occasion and getting more frequent by the day). I have always been one to get loud when I'm angry (I'm a red-headed Irish Cancer...you do the math lol). But I always thought that when I had a child I would be all (said in a sweet, motherly sing song voice) "No no honey, Mommy doesn't like it when you do that. Please stop ok?" In the begining I was like that. But now, the older he gets, the harder it is to be that sweet, motherly sing songer when he's turned the tv on and off for the thousandth time. Or unplugged the vacuum after I've told him countless times "don't touch". Or when he insists on taking his crackers and smushing them into smitherines on my freshly vacuumed carpet. Or any of the multitude of other things toddlers are prone to doing. All I can say is that time outs are happening more frequently and my tone of voice is getting sterner by the day and I'm yelling more than I used to. How about you? Do you yell?
