So a while ago there was a thread on the welcome page basically saying cooking your child breakfast everyday shows how much you love them ......but that wasn't the part that struck me , what struck me was HOW MANY people said they prepare cooked breakfasts everyday for their children with them listing things like sausages , bacon , hash browns , pancakes , waffles with maple syrup , eggs .
To be honest it shocked me because while they are all delish foods not one of them are healthy options especially as a meal everyday .
Many of them went on to suggest cereals were" unhealthy " um yeah if you buy crap like fruit loops , and again with the " uncooked breakfast means you don't love your child as much BS " it made me wonder do these people know cereals and grains are one of the most important parts of our diet ? do they know the salt content of bacon and sausages ? the sugar content of syrup ?
Maybe it is because culturally Australians do not really cook breakfasts , they are generally a once a week thing or special occasion thing , toast , multigrain cereals , yogurts and fruit are what is generally a staple here .
Do you think cooked is better than uncooked or vice versa and why ?
