Could be a debate but, more of an interesting question

I was just talking to some friends about bathing and showering. I mentioned that I shower after I have a bath. BUT, it's more like doing a quick rinse to wash off any grim or dead skin (sorry, gross, I know) that accumulates after laying in bath water.

So, how many of you shower or do a quick rinse after a bath? How many think it's crazy or how many think it's crazy NOT too?

Dude, I can't believe the infrequent bath times! I don't know why, but if I say I'm having a bath nobody disputes it or says I should be doing something else. So I have one most days just because it gives me some time to myself. Nothing like lying in a big tub full of warm water with a good book.

I don't use baths to get clean so generally I've already had a shower before hand, at least relatively recently. Baths for me are used for book reading and getting rid of migraines. I'm not really concerned with how grimy I might be afterward.

What's a bath? Sounds nice and relaxing...

Honestly, I can't even remember the last itme my kids took a bath. They all take showers (with the little ones in with either me or our oldest while I supervise from the adjoining room). Back when I used to get baths I always rinsed off in the shower afterwards. Even if I showered before the bath, I would still feel the need for a quick rinse...

I don't bath very often. When Cole was a baby, I used to bring him in the tub with me because he hated being bathed otherwise, and he would always pee or spit up in the tub, so then I would have to take a shower afterwards! In our old house, we had a telescoping shower head in the tub, so I'd rinse off with that after a bath, but in this house, we don't, so I don't generally rinse off, unless I have bubbles or bath oils in the tub. But I think I've only taken a bath twice since we moved to this house over a year ago!

Bath time is mommy time or couple time for me. I grab a book, a glass of wine, and soak. I used to do it twice just me and then sometimes a third for couple time per week. Now that Chad's active duty, it happens maybe once a week and couple time is obviously not happening :-/

I usually soak for a while, then wash up, and rinse off. I always take a shower the next morning any way. I need my shower to wake me up and get my day started.

I would say I almost always rinse off after a bath if I am soaking in a tub. I also rinse of my daughter but we have one of those hand held shower handles in our tub (shower is separate) so it makes it easy. A bath does not make me feel clean... it is just nice to relax and smelly good stuff kind of thing.

I adore baths, I will usually take them after my baby girl and hubby have gone to bed, I soak and read a good book and then yes, I do usually take a shower, wash my hair etc. Feels great!

I usually use a bath to shave my legs or relax (being pregnant, some warm water is nice on my back) but that's pretty much it, I don't use it to wash unless i'm too sick to support myself in the shower the whole time. After my bath I just get out and dry off, because it's usually not used to "clean" anyways, I usually have showered either the day before or after.

That's interesting, Laura, because I do give my son a quick wash off before I give him his bath. He's still in diapers so I figure his butt isn't that clean and I wouldn't want to sit in the bath water with that thing, if it were me. Not to mention he blows bubbles or tries to drink the water...

I usually shower to get clean, then fill the tub and enjoy! Also I do it thiscway because I wash Eric with me usually and my shampoo and soap is rough on his skin so I don't want him sitting in sudsy water.
I think shower first makes more sense then bath first, that way you aren't sitting in dirty water at all!

I've never thought to rinse after a bath. But then I rarely have a bath. It's usually a shower for me.

2. The kids are no where near the bathroom door.

I actually can't recall the last time I took a bath. It's been a long time. Too much work with having to shower afterwards. ;)

I can't remember the last time I took a bath either! Maybe back in November? don't remember, but yeah, I'd always do a quick rinse with the shower too.

I almost never take a bath and when I do... it is after a shower, so whether or not I 'rinse off' again just depends. ;)
