Well I wouldn't, but I have heard that high-end lotions and skin creams actually have baby boys circumsized tissue in it. So I guess some people like to use that kind of stuff...

Oh and when using beauty products from a container, eg screw lid, never put your fingers in to the jar to get the product out, use a cotton bud reason being that no matter how much you wash your fingers you are contaminating the container. I learnt this at a Revlon training day.

I haven't read all your replies but I used to work in a souvenir shop, it's sheeps placenta that is used. There is a maximum amount of placenta that can be used in a product hence why some companies bring out a entire range so that you can get the most out of the placenta. These products are very popular in the Asian markets. No I wouldn't use them.

Nope, no way. I have heard of encapsulating the placenta though for depression. I will admit I MIGHT try that.
I would want to know if it really worked. When I was pregnant with my 2 girls my depression and anxiety went away. So their may BE some benefits to that.
As far as putting it in my hair or on my face....um no.

Right the low down is.

I rang, to lazy to go to the store..its lashing rain outside.lol

I asked about the "Placental hair treatments".

The lady was so helpful.I am not the first to ask either lol.

The product is actually from the Hask company which i never saw on the box when i was in store.This company only uses the placenta of a sheep once she gives birth to her lamb.

So it is not human but animal.Still could not use it.The lady said the human placental products are in stores but not in stores local.She has heard of all of the human placental products out there to.

Its very expensive.She also said about the foreskin creams to.Getting weak at the knees now.

They Hask treatments don't sell great either in the store..i wonder why.lol

Erin- I did not know that.... probably because I dont use those products. I dont think its necessarily wrong if someone chooses to use it but it is gross. I have used hair products (trying out new ones) with animal placenta, again gross so I dont and havent for quit a few years but as far as i know my make up is human and animal placenta free :)

Ive never heard or read of human placenta used in hair or other beauty products, Id also like to see some kind of proof to back that up( im big on my beauty products, love them). But I do know that in some cultures it is very normal to actually eat the placena, the entire family partakes in it as a sort of welcoming and honoring a new life. Thats gross if you ask me.

No!! The only way I would use any placenta is if it is my own, and I encapsulate it. Some random Russian lady's placenta is not going on my face. And I'm not even going to go into the ethics of using animal parts for beauty products.

Plant extract would obviously be fine.

I could probably use the plant placenta. Not so sure about animal, only if I didn't think about it. I'd just keep picturing my cat giving birth to her first kitten and her eyes nearly popping out of her head like a cartoon. Sorry, off track, but a little traumatizing. LOL

EMK Placental - uses Advanced plant derived Bio-Identical Placental Extract
Renew Placenta - uses plant placenta, a part taken from the bud of certain species of herbs.

Plazan Cosmetics - The placenta is taken from a maternity hospitals in Russia according contracts and with a hospital's prices.

So plant extract is fine with me .... not maternity ward extract!

There are many that only use animal placenta after they give birth.

Right Cathy i may check that out..September i find pregnancy very fascinating.So to be pregnant myself was just utterly amazing.
I just don't like to look at stuff like the placenta in the way the doctors were wanting me to.Not after 9hrs of labour etc.I was to tried to be fascinated at that moment lol.
Using others or my own still would gross me out.I love my kids and my second child nearly died due to her placenta.I just couldn't use theres and feel okay with it.Each to there own by all means though.

Yeah Ashley that kind of stuff does not gross me out in the least however what is gross would be to use someone else's placenta, I could never do that. I got to see mine too and it was actually pretty neat to think that our son had spent 9 months growing in it :) Pretty cool stuff imo!

September thats cool with me and perfectly normal for many to want to use there own...although i don't think personally i could use my own.That freaks me out to.I saw my first borns placenta.When the doctor and midwife drew my attention to it.They were talking about how healthy it was, due to the colour of it.I nearly passed out.lol.Good thing i was lying down at the time.

I won a competition to have my hair and make-up done.That's why i was there in the first place.I am a plain Jane other wise.I buy my hair,body and face stuff in a health store were its all organic and 100% natural.With no placenta etc in them.
Make-up is worn only on occasion's and in interviews lol.

Thank you for this post. Product knowledge is ssoooo important! I dont research everything, but I do research products that I put on mine and my childrens body hair face. Etc. I look for products that are fair trade and have a small list of ingredients.less is better. That is one "natural" product I prefer not to use. :)

And here I was thinking I should start using products more often. I don't wear make-up very often at all, not even to work. If we go out and have a date night or something, I might put some on. Think I'll stick with the whole fresh-faced look.

No i am with you guys.I would not touch anything with foreskin or placenta tissue from live or aborted babies.

I think its horrible.

I stick with hot water and a cloth for my skin.I use a natural honey scrub for my face with moisturiser..Thats about it.

I stood in the shop just gob smacked looking at these placental products.

Doesn't matter to me if it was from an abortion or birth, I really don't want to buy anything with placenta extract. Especially a pill. I guess some people will do anything.

No I could not.
I know you could buy human placenta extract in some health food stores in the past, not sure about now. And from what I understand, the placental tissue is from placentas that are delivered after baby in a hospital setting, all from other countries, not the US or Canada.
Not sure what one would use an extract for, it was in a pill form. My cousin owned a health food store and she always thought it was weird that people bought it.
