Did anyone see Dr. Phil yesterday? His guest was civilian turned celeb, Nik Ritchie who has created a website to dish the latest "dirty" about people and it's all done annonymously. Agree or disagree? Is it harmful? A form of cyber bullying or entertainment (as he refers to it)?

I went and looked at the site and looked at a clip of the Dr. Phil show, and I'm disgusted with it. It's only entertainment to the bullies and torture for the people who have to look at that crap!

Oh, and I was really hoping to talk about bullying and abuse in this thread but I suppose that's not the direction it went.

LMFAO! I tape it everyday, mainly because I'm really enjoying tuesdays with "Dr. Phil's Housewives" -- I typically delete the other episodes unless they seem interesting to me. Like tomorrow for instance, Dr. Phil talks about abusive discipline and his guest puts her son in cold showers, uses hot sauce etc. I CANNOT wait to see what Dr. Phil has to say.

You're right, they are the same and a lot of people are in an uproar about it. I agree it's extremely disturbing and could probably destroy lives IF people let it.

i started thinking about it a bit more, and how is this different than people of walmart site (which i love), and lamebook? i guess lamebook is alittle different, but some parts of it are the same. making fun of someone anonymously in their pictures and stuff. IDK.

I wonder if Dr. Phil realizes how much more business Nik Ritchie is getting now because of his appearance on the show? I HATE to admit that I went to the site and checked it out. I also HATE to admit that the stuff was funny and most of it I agreed with. I'm a horrible person, I guess?! It's tough to give a shit when you don't know someone, especially when they're a celeb. I dunno.

I think that as many people who were disgusted by the show (ME), there are an equal number of people who will visit and revisit the site because of the publicity that Nik Ritchie is getting.

I have had some "fake" FB people commenting on my FB. The shit they have come out with about me and the names me and my family have been called could have done some serious damage. I know who it is who has done it and i know i could delete the stuff they have said but it just shows how low this lot of people are they can't even say it to my face or even be who they really are on their FB and say it. I hate this sort of anonymous shit. It should be illegal.

well...something has to be said about the people that actually visit and comment on these types of sites. I don't agree with what he is doing, but the fact is people love to gossip and rag on others. It's a sad truth.

Well now that I've been to the actual site. I'd have to say some of it is pretty funny to read but very immature. Reminds me of the movie 'Mean Girls' with the 'Burn Book'. Grown women acting like teenagers it's so lovely...What is the world coming to?

This exact thing happened in the town where I grew up. Some kids made a website and defamed a lot of people and shamed them on their behaviour and cheating on their partners and being shit parents from third party sources. I feel most of it was probably true. Personally, if you're going to do things that are shit to others expect to be unpopular. But this is defamation of character none the less, and is now and has always been illegal activity.

I typed in dirty.com too and it came up with the website I posted. Where there hell did it take you?

So I went to go to the website and didn't click the link I typed in dirty.com and let me tell ya it was not the kind of dirty I was expecting. LMAO

How do you guys feel about the fact that he (Nik Ritchie) doesn't want to take ownership of the things that are said because he didn't actually say them. Just in case you guys aren't aware, these comments and pics are coming from annonymous third parties.

I seen that show yesterday and I 100% agree it's bullying. Like the girl on the show said, "How would you feel if someone killed themselves" seriously the sad part of that is someone actually could and would do that. The interent definetly has pros and cons but if you are going to use it to damage someone else, you have some issues of your own and that's just abusing something that has no use to abuse. It disgusts me that some people enjoy hurting others...ugh!

Wtf? Is this seriously what people do in their spare time? I've seen something like that on FB where you can leave comments for your 'friends' annonymously but always wondered if you can't say it to someone w/o them knowing who you are, what kind of spineless a$$hole are you. No, this is a horrible idea and can ruin peoples lives if taken too far. Its NOT entertainment, it is bullying. Might as well be high school but instead of you knowing who the bullies are, they just leave nasty notes on your locker. Ridiculous!

Hey Dana, I saw that episode yesterday...at least parts of it. I was doing laundry & chasing my son around at the same time, so I was only able to catch glimpses of it. I tried going on the "thedirty" website yesterday to take a look, but apparently it was flooded with people trying to view it, so I didn't get a chance.

Personally, I think that guy & everyone else involved in the website need to grow up & find a new hobby. It all seems pretty stupid to me...although I haven't checked it out yet. I guess it COULD be kind of entertaining too lol.

i think it's bullying. it's purely childish, and pointless. i don't get why people do shit like this.
